Maybe, but the comparison was between him and KD. There are a few key differences

Unless you're just using KD treatment in the general sense. Then, yeah, he probably will get some hate

Kawhi didn’t quit on a team that was up 3-2 against in the CF only to join the team that beat him. That was the all time weak sauce move in history of sports. However, from GS it was a brilliant move by a brilliant organization. If Kawhi joins Lakers it will 100% ruin the season for me and I will completely quit watching NBA. The train wreck of an organization that is the Lakers didn’t earn this good fortune.

And it will happen...

Have to admit I freaked momentarily when I saw the headline in the Wiretap yesterday about Clay considering the Lakers until I realized there's no way GS low-balls him.

At leasst we won't feel as bad about not trading all our picks and brown for 1 year of Kawhi.

True but ill Be pissed because the league will be boring. I prefer a league where the results of the playoffs aren’t known in November

LBJ is around 35 at this point, Klay might not play next year at all. It really doesn't matter... if he signs with the Lakers or not.
Good assessment:

Here's a question.

I was wondering if the Nets could use the Disabled Player Exception to sign Durant and Kyrie and then use it to sign a third player. Nope. Already thought of.

This exception only can be granted to the team for which the player was playing when his injury or illness was known, or reasonably should have become known. A team cannot trade for an injured player and subsequently apply for a Disabled Player exception for that player.

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q25

So my question is can Warriors use this exception if they re-sign Klay and Durant. Because if they offered one or both of them the Supermax half of that salary would be enough money to get some attractive free agents around Curry.

Durant and Kawhi together in NY or LA would be great for NBA. Superteams in GS, LA and NY along with enough pretenders like Boston, Utah, Philly, Indiana, Brooklyn and Houston to make championship run seem wide open would be almost like a Golden Age. Hope Kawhi doesn’t ruin it by going to Lakers. But he will.

That's much better. **** Lebron. We have a one-year window to sneak into the Finals if this happens. Then you never know what upgrade we can make later on.

For all the talk about Kawhi wanting to be the man, he really doesn't want that responsibility at all.

The only places he can be a Finals contender next season are LAL and TOR. Since KD is out next season, my guess is that he signs a short term deal (1+1) with either the Lakers or Raptors and then joins KD in NYC.

How much does this show that KD does not want to play for the Nets?

I like those superteams of two stars much more than 3+ stars superteams like Warriors or LeBron-Wade-Bosh in Miami. NBA really should try to make some effort to find a way how to make creating 3+ stars superteams almost impossible. NBA history is full of great duos, not full of trios. Big 3 concept really needs to go away to make the league much more open and interesting.

Any guy that walks away from 2 teams he won a title with in consecutive seasons clearly has different priorities than chasing rings. If he can live in LA and coast to three more rings....why wouldn’t he? He wants to live in LA. Maybe he hates the idea of being a Laker so Clippers appeal to him more. That is only hope I see for the upcoming season being ruined for me. It has barely been fun knowing the outcome for the past 8 years. Sucks really. My interest in Celtics is as high as ever but the NBA is too predictable unless you get season ending injuries out of the blue. Toronto winning it was so hollow after Klay went down.

It is crazy that the fate of the NBA rests on teams that have been probably the worst during my lifetime.

Clippers until recently were the worst
Knicks have recently took that banner.
