To be honest.... if we traded for Kanter and put him next to Amir in that starting lineup I don't hate it THAT much... the guy can rebound and score in bunches he just sucks ass at defending... but if anyone can get him to a respectable level it's Brad.

Yeah kind of another reclamation project. If he got ET to turn into a good defender I bet he could get Kanter to below average, maybe even average, and he's a damn good player at that point.

I would rather strikeout in free agency than do a terrible trade.

If it isn't durant or Horford, what do you do?

Im still down to play the rookies and get 48 wins again. Try again next year but with maybe some rookie assets if they develop.

Bulpett from the Herald is suggesting Mozgov and Mahinmi would be our plan B....

But if Horford cannot be secured as a free agent, expect the C’s to look into the likes of Cleveland’s Timofey Mozgov and Indiana’s Ian Mahinmi.

At the right price, either would be good adds for what we need them to do. Mozgov can actually put up points and Mahinmi although a tad older at 29 (but still young enough) can defend well. Not sure why Larry is parting with him.

Indy is not parting with Mahinmi. He's their priority once clock strikes 12. Mahinmi also expressed interest to return. Based on "reports".

Rather keep Amir then get Mozgov. We're a fast paced team and he doesnt fit. Its the same reason, Mozgov was benched in the Cavs.

Those late years are going to be a disaster. The guy is already injury riddled imagine what he'll be like at 34.

BTW. The Vertical free agency show is legit and is somehow just about keeping pace with Twitter.

The Knicks really are building a 2010 title contender. They better hope Dolan has a time machine heh

It's like Phil hired Mr. Peabody and Sherman to do their player evaluations.

I want Damien Inglis on a dirt cheap contract. He is somewhere in between the French ET and the French Draymond Green. Worth a flier. ETA, he would also give Yabu a French buddy to hang with.

Mike Conley is highest paid player in the NBA, let that sink in.

He's not. He signs his new deal the same day as Lebron and all the other free agents on July 10th, so Lebron will be the highest paid player.

Lebron only gets 27 million if he opts for his 1 year contract to max out next off season.

Does anyone else find the "waaah all the NBA players are getting overpaid" thing irritating?

They're getting paid what the NBA (you know, the ones trying to make money here) think they are worth. The NBA isn't a charity. If they could pay the players less they would.

Newsflash: your completely arbitrary opinion of "what people are worth" doesn't actually mean anything. If you think everyone is overpaid, maybe your opinion is the problem.

This needs to be said over and over and over again. This is how labor markets work. You either pay what everyone else is willing to pay, or you get nothing at all. We're going to end up having to pay the same rates to re-sign all of the players we currently have on contracts signed on the old CBA and rookie scale deals, and then everyone here is going to complain about how our team is filled with overpaid players who are getting paid exactly the same as what everyone else in the league gets.
