Looks like Stein just worded things oddly with Pondexter. Bullet dodged.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Pelicans have been recruited to join the trade struck Friday by the Celtics and Grizzlies by sending Rivers to Boston and taking on guard Quincy Pondexter from the Grizzlies.

On Friday, as ESPN.com first reported, Boston and Memphis came to terms on the larger elements of a deal, with the Celtics agreeing to send Green to the Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince's $7.7 million expiring contract and a future first-round pick.

Do people know how to read the deal is Prince, Rivers future first to Boston, Pondexter to Pels and Green to Mem. Stein just posted that on the article.

Read it again. Your jumping the gun and prematurely bitching/moaning on this one. Just can't help yourself, I guess.

A 1st and Austin Rivers for Jeff Green? Got to give Danny props on this once, very solid haul.

So stoked for Austin Rivers. Very exited to root for him while 80% of board hates him. He's exactly the type of player this team needs to bring in.

If it's Rivers, a 1st, and Prince, that's a great trade. Still disappointed about Wright, but that's a great trade. Prince could be flipped for a minor asset and Austin can be auditioned.. If Stevens reached Turner, he might reach Rivers, and I suspect Austin's competitiveness was misunderstood in NOP.. Willing to make the case for Austin, based on youth/environment..

You sound like a petulant 12 year old whose puberty is getting the best of him in all your posts. Relax and have that case of beer.

Rivers is not much...but something. glad to have him instead of Salmons. at 22 YO, i haven't given up on him to still have a place in the league. There are some skills there. well worth a flyer. worst case is he is an expiring.

Worst case on the pick would be 'if not conveyed by 20xx, Boston will receive second round pick'

I actually love this trade for NOP, too.. They desperately need a 3 and D wing..

Ahh, so we're flipping QP for Rivers.. Only thing that would make this trade better would be dumping Nelson. But this deal gets an A..

Only 22. Would probably go top 10 in this year's draft.

Continue the development and see what you come out with. Different system = different player

I don't mind taking on Rivers. He's a young player. Maybe he pans out, maybe he doesn't. Given that I hated the trade as it was, throwing in Rivers might make it worthwhile just to see how it goes. It certainly doesn't make it worse.
