Smart/Hill
Brown/Jerome
Tatum/Richardson
Horford/Grant
Timelord/Muscala

Have as deep bench:
Pritchard
Nesmith
Kanter

2 way contracts of
Hauser
Thomas

Trade would leave Boston about about 2.5 million under the tax to either convert Hauser to a full contract, or snag someone else for free out there (just convert Hauser, IMO)

Next goal post for the Cs: Be more clutch.

Blowouts are nice, but you won't get so many of them in the playoffs. Gotta execute in the 4th.

Hell of a quote from Ime Udoka: "I mentioned it the other night: it feels at times like we engulf teams and kinda suffocate them with our size and length and some of those things."

One thing that has kept me very optimistic on this team, even through the earlier struggles, is the fact this team has an identity. If you're going to be successful in the long run and in the playoffs, you need an identity and this team is outstanding defensively.

That gives me hope as this team moves forward into the 2nd half.

Just going to leave this here. Best net rating among the 100 2-man, 3-man, 4-man and 5-man lineups with the most minutes:

Atlanta supposedly has a great bench. So why do they lead the 5-man ranks without also leading for groups of smaller size?

Just a guess but not enough minutes to make the cut (whatever filter was used in the search).

Love our defense. 2nd best rating in the league yeeeeeeeeeeah baby. Now if we can get the Jays to shoot better and get our offense to 10th - 12th i like our chances against anyone.

Moving JB and JT to the 2 and 3 helped our size matchups. The advantage scale tips in their favor and to their strengths at the 2 and 3. That also opened up the 4 for Grant and Al.

Wouldn't mind Theis back at the deadline to shore up the front court. A few minor moves could help in a PO run.

Jammer wrote:At 30-25, looking at the remaining 27 games:

Realize that there may be a major trade re-aligning the core 8. But if that group stays healthy, this team could win more than 45 games. They have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. The biggest problem this team has is the depth behind their core 8. Don't have a 4th wing that can reliably score, don't have a 4th big to step in (if Tatum moves to PF the wing issues are magnified). But if the core 8 can play together most of the remaining games, they should do way better than 0.500 and win over 45 games.

Core 8:
Frontcourt: Rob Williams III, Al Horford, Grant Williams

Wings: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Josh Richardson

PG: Marcus Smart & Dennis Schroder

If any of Pritchard, Langford or Nesmith ever consistently step up that will give them the latitude to miss or rest a rotation player.

That's the core for sure. A vet wing shooter and a vet frontcourt defender would be my two priorities at the deadline. Get PO ready and see what happens!

Yep, I just played with minutes minimum until I got to 100 results. Adjust as you wish from those links

I saw.

Disgusting. Houston gets the best player, plus additional assets...for Daniel Theis.

So...the plan is for Brad to make himself an easy trade partner by overpaying for EVERYTHING right...that way in the future, teams will be more willing to work with him on good trades....right?
