I'll join your club, i like Rivers skill set for our team. Hopefully a guard in attack mode every time he's on the floor someone who can attack the paint!

He certainly hasn't had much success so far, but he is only 22 and shot 36 percent from three last year, and he was decent after the All-Star break.

I'm actually interested to see what he can do here. I mean, he was a throw-in in this deal. Where's the harm?

Steez Project this kid, Brad. What's the deal with his rights after this season? Can we S&T him?

We should applaud Danny AInge for being the hardest working GM in the business. At least he is doing something, some might not like it but he isn't asleep at the wheel or scared of being fired if he makes moves. I for one am glad danny is in charge.

Does anyone know what happened to Synergy sports for fans? I bought that in July and it was gone like two months later.. There are other stat sources online, but their video footage was incredible..

Now its on Danny to trade of buyout all remaining veterans Bass, Thornton and Nelson.

- Thornton now is in the way not only for Young but also for Rivers, Bass really deserves to be on contender and Nelson just buy him out.

At one point 99% of this board wanted rivers on this team, just reminding you of your initial impressions :)

While I'm not upset that we're bringing in Rivers, I'm not sure where he fits here. There are already a number of guards -- Smart, Bradley, Nelson, Pressey, Turner -- who he will be competing for minutes with. Maybe he gets flipped somewhere else, or we buy out Nelson. The first round pick is nice, but I'd like to see the protections. It could turn into multiple second rounders sometime mid-century like the protected Minny pick we got from Phoenix.

While I was hoping to get more for Green at the start of the year, now that it's become clear he's going to opt out of his contract, we had very little leverage. I think we have to accept the haul we got. I was hoping to nab either Jordan Adams or Jarnell Stokes, but I think those are both guys Memphis values down the road, since each graded out highly prior to the draft per advanced metrics (remember Hollinger is still in the Memphis front office).

Last time I read up on Austin, he still couldn't finish at the rim but had improved as a ball handler and wasn't a line drive to the basket guy anymore. You can find plenty of nice games if you look at his stats.. Too bad the Pelicans board is the only dead one on RealGM, I'd love to hear their fans' thoughts..

Though I should also note, I'm not a huge fan of Rivers as a player. He just hasn't shown enough in his 2+ years in the league to think that he's anything more than replacement level filler.

This makes Pressey and Nelson expendable. Trade them if we can. Then we'll have Smart/Bradley/Rivers.. I'll take that for now and see how things go.

We could have gotten Anthony Davis, and people still would have found something to complain about.

I think we should keep Bass as the veteran professional leader for this team.
Way to many young kids that may loose their direction. Even if we loose, whcih we now will someone needs to hold the ship together.

Nelson's gone, but Rivers may play some minutes at the point.. Thornton probably gets waived.. Though if they find a taker for Wallace, I could see them buying a pick or asset by taking on bad money.. Watch Boston/NYK for a creative accounting swap.. Calderon is 3 million cheaper next year but has an extra season on the books and is a year older.. Does Boston want to shave some short-term money?

I guess I'm just happy now that we're getting a young player. I'll take a young player over a pick, but we're getting the pick too, so.. Hey, why not?

Nelson will likely either be bought out or traded, and I'm sure the front office will be more interested in developing Rivers than Pressey (whom I actually like). Don't be surprised to see Turner get moved at some point, too.

I'm sure they will be able to find a trade for Thornton. Doubt they waive him.

lol. Rivers is awful. A fringe NBA player at best. If Ainge were smart he wouldn't be apart of any future plans
