Hawks have a 25m TPE they want to use.

That could be something Brad can work with.

Trade Jrue for 2 or 3 players then move the player/s to Atlanta.

So it's not only Brooklyn who can absorb a big contract.

After paying 6.1b for the Celtics, rebuilding is not an option.

How do you know it will be a “long time”

JT is out next year
JT is more than likely not himself the following year.
Year three, post blowup, what other trades have happened, do you know? Maybe Brad get into the Giannis sweepstakes or xyz.

It’s mostly about flexibility moving forward by sacrificing a year. A few people on here like the drama. I’m trying to provide logic to an idea.

JT is coming back in March.

To be confirmed, but reports say JT will not miss the entire 2026 season.

I see we are back into the fairy tale portion of the programming.

Probably, but we’ll see.
PHX & MIN new owners kept core, added big names, basically going all-in. Not great results.

Hey, if winning regular season games, and some playoff series is the goal…

New owners, if they really care, should just pay $500M to keep the team intact next year. Good with me, not my money.

Shoot, another troll. Thought you had a discussion in you. My fault. I’ll adjust accordingly.

It's just unrealistic, people in this forum think it happens all the time. The most realistic scenario in a Celtics rebuild is Tatum after a few years saying get me the hell out of here because I'm not into winning 35-40 games when I'm in the middle of my prime. Why is this so hard to understand?

If true, that definitely changes the discussion a bit. Still think a big shake up is needed. Again, home court, go down 0-2 to NYK, is so bad. Then you remember the 22 finals, the 2023 ECF. smh

Exactly, it’s the JT achilles tank year. Also, you’d more than likely be able to resign Luke and Horford. Kids are gonna need some veterans. Do you think we’re the Kings?

If only this had ever been done before

You trade everyone, Tatum will want out. Why the hell would he stay through a long rebuild?

He’s under contract.
He’s kept in the loop by the FO.
He sees the vision.

Funny how your assumptions are just opinions, but mine are “unrealistic.”
Got it, your guesswork just happens to be smarter than mine.

Nah JT is out all next year and will be less than 100% the year after, despite the team saying the contrary. **** up a good story, let the troll cook.

Player who has always been on winning teams is okay with a long rebuild. Got it. Got any more dumbass takes in you? I really hope you’re trolling because if you aren’t you really are a major dumbass

Some brilliant back and forth tonight. This is the kind of offseason conflict I love to see around here.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

A troll isn’t someone who disagrees with you, it’s someone who avoids real conversation, speaks in absolutes, and drops shallow takes without explaining anything.

I’ve actually been on RealGM a long time. I just don’t post much. You could’ve looked that up before jumping in with assumptions.
You know… the kind of thing a troll would do.

Well one you’re a **** idiot.

Two I’m not the one calling everyone who disagrees with me a troll to hide my own trolling bull. You do realize you’re describing yourself by saying what a troll is. Right?

Exactly. I’m just trying to figure out why one poster is calling two people who disagree with him and have been posting on this board for years, trolls. The poster in question doesn’t even post here. So whatever…
