I agree, but the democrat side is no better: See Clinton. Just give it time, and there will be more on both sides. The dam has been broken.

I have a friend who said he knows a guy who knows a guy who was sexurally harassed by Hillary Clinton. She walked into his room, held him down, ripped off his clothes and grabbed him by the penis. Oh, and he was only 14 years old. I have no idea how Breitbart has failed to cover this salacious story.

By cesspool, I meant the party in totality, not just related to this event. From policy to morality, it's bankrupt and toxic.

How is that working out?
VA can be great at a lot of things. Surely not perfect.

agree about clinton but there's a lot to like about the rest of the party. a lot of dems i know are even more pissed at clinton and the DNC now that more dirt is coming out on how sanders got robbed. but that old guard is dying. meanwhile there are some sharp young up and comers in the dems like tulsi gabbard and cory booker, more obama centrist than sanders/warren leftists. still a bit young for the presidency but you can see a bright future. on the other side i don't see many reasonable moderate young repubs who could take the mantle, all the young guys seem to be rabid tea party/trump/bannon disciples.

Are we really equating Clinton getting a BJ to Roy Moore at 32 getting it on with a 14 year old?
Sure both sides have their baggage, but it's not really apples to apples. It's more like a**holes to pedophiles. It's bad to be either, but way worse to be the latter than the former.

Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about that BJ. What happened to our chief pussy grabber? What's going to happen to Roy Moore?

My overall point is the dam has been broken and we will start hearing more claims from both sides. Just seems to be the norm now. I highly doubt this will be an isolated incident of one politician. Also, Clinton lied under oath to Congress. Not just to the general public. Not the smartest thing to do. But then again...

I hope you're right but I see a different picture. Looks like Warren will be the DNC 202 presidential candidate and many millennials embrace socialism.

What do you think socialism is?
Socialism is a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism. Not my own words but it sums it up nicely. In more practical terms single payer healthcare, "free" college tuition, bigger government, substantially higher taxes.
Here is the study regarding millenials and socialism
Ask a millennial if they would rather live under a socialist or capitalist country, and they’re likely to give an answer much different than their parents or grandparents would.
That’s according to a new YouGov study commissioned by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, an anti-communist organization, which found that 44 percent of millennials would prefer to live in a socialist country, with another 7 percent saying the same about communism.
Meanwhile, just 42 percent of millennials said they would choose to live in a capitalistic country like the United States, according to the survey of 2,000 people.

In the bolded what you're referring to is social democracy, which is not at odds with capitalism. Universal health care (a far better term than single-payer) and reduced costs and improved access to higher education lead to better societal outcomes. These things can exist very comfortably with capitalism as they do in so very many countries. They actually increase social mobility and reduce poverty and crime.

I haven't commented on this thread or really acknowledged it until today, but I do want to say Trump is the absolute worst.
This comment has almost no merit, but I wanted to say it since I work at a local news station and can't say my opinions unless I'm anonymous. That is all.

I don't follow your logic. If the government is taking money out of pay checks and sending kids to state run universities how is that capitalism?
I would support increased funding for certain majors (STEM, nursing / medical, lawyers) but a wide spread "everybody gets to go to college on the tax payers dime" is an absolutely horrible idea. We already have a massive problem of people spending 200,000 for a degree that gets you a job paying 15/hr and instead of saying maybe we should stop doing this people want to double down and have even more kids get worthless degrees.

First point - government takes money out of everyone's pockets and uses it for all sorts of societal goods. Investing in kids' educations, making it easier for them to create more value for themselves, their families and their communities benefits the country as much as building roads, providing policing or any other public good services. The net effect on the society is positive. It pays off for a lifetime. The vast, vast majority of industries are still privatized. I'm saying that wildly expensive post-secondary education and (especially) health care cost you more in the long term than the alternative. And you get worse outcomes. The numbers definitely prove this out when you look at outcomes in health care and the brutal effects of massive student debt compared to other western countries.
A college degree should not cost $200,000. That's a huge mistake.
