That’s pretty unlike Jaylen. Him and Kemba are the main offenders of this, so don’t like him ducking the question.

Yeah, that was a weird moment. He probably knows he's guilty of tunnel vision the last two games, so he just avoided answering it. Let's hope that "no comment" is just him kicking himself for not passing the ball enough.

I’ll choose to believe it’s the last part of what you said. I may have questions at times about Jaylen the player, but he is as standup of a dude as it gets.

Or maybe, he didn’t want to call out his teammates for not being able to hit sh.t!

That too.

Problems have just sprouted like weeds all over this team lol. There's no single issue you can point out.

0 assists in five of the last six games? wtf? How is that even possible from a SG in today's NBA? It's alarming and people just hand-wave it away.

He missed the 2 games, had 4 assists in each of the 2 games before that. But his last 4 games have been 0/10/0/0 with 15 turnovers, there’s no excuse for that, dude literally has the highest usage % on the team.

Question for all the Jaylen doubters.
Who should we trade him for, so we can have more assists?
Bear in mind, he needs to be efficient. He needs to improve yearly. He needs to represent the team with honor. Also, he needs to be proud to be a Celtic. Because, Jaylen is!

I mean i do tend to hand wave away at least two of those games, considering he didn't play in them at all.
I'm not worried about Jaylen's low assist numbers unless it continues for another 10 games or so, because his passing was pretty decent over his first 20. Something to keep an eye on, but not to panic on yet. Guys have bad shooting stretches, they can also have bad passing stretches.

When a JB pass presents a greater chance of a bucket than a JB shot does, I'll worry about it.
Jaylon fricking Brown is the ABSOLUTE least of the Celtics concerns, and I mean in the entire organization.

I don't know why we'd do that. Trading away Brown, who is a REALLY GOOD wing right now for a center who MIGHT eventually be good and a pick that might not even convey for 2 years is a really good way to get Tatum to demand a trade.
Like value wise I'm not saying its bad, two early lottery picks in a vacuum is a fine return. It just doesn't make sense for where the c's are right now. If you do that you might as well trade Tatum too because you'd be heading to tank town at that point.

Re: What is Jaylen Brown's ceiling?
Jaylen is just not that good. He might thrive as a third wheel in an offense with Steph and Dray. He can’t do jack here.
With proper tanking moves we can get a top 3 pick. That means Minny pick is sure to convey (Det and WAS being the other top three picks). Trade Smart and Kemba, sit Tatum with a hand soreness.
In the third season of Tatums extension Wiseman will be in his third year and playing legit ball. Suggs and Cade will also be balling. This is a move we have to make.

Re: What is Jaylen Brown's ceiling?
People need to stop expecting impossible things from Jaylen. Truth is: He has poor vision and a low natural BBIQ. He has already exceeded is developmental trajectory by far thanks to his work ethic, heart and high general IQ. But there are things you cannot learn: Either you have it, or you don't, and when comes to playmaking instincts, Jaylen doesn't. The chances of him ever becoming an above-average shot creator are slim to none, and accepting this will only lead to healthier expectations. In the best case, he can become a guy who puts up 5 AST/3.5 TOV due to high usage.
Does this mean that he sucks? No. You can still be damn good without being a great passer. Kawhi averaged 2.6 assists per game when he was at Jaylen's age. Paul George (who is a more realistic comparison) is not exactly a transcendent playmaker either. Brown is perfectly suited for the role of a second banana on a contender already. And if you want him traded, you should get drug tested.
That said: 0 assists in 3 out of the 4 last games are unacceptable. Everyone knows this, including Jaylen. This needs to change, and it will. But don't expect him to become the second coming of LeBron. Passing is not his forte and never will be, period. And that's okay.

Some of you guys are ridiculous. So Jaylen needs to take on the bulk of the scoring load with efficiency, be a staunch defender, and rack up assists to scrubs who can’t hit a shot while he’s recovering from injury to satisfy you? Some fans constantly raise the bar to absurd levels to justify their bad takes.

Jaylen Brown is about to start the ASG and is one of two things that isnt the problem with this team. He’s grown every year.

This is so **** stupid I almost spit out my water, and I'm not even talking about the Jaylen take.
You want to gut the team and waste 3 years of Tatum so we can tank?

Agree with how stupid that idea is. For all we know, Tatum could be unhappy now, and you want to trade the team's second best player in Brown so we could reset again? Management might as well tell Tatum he's free to leave because they're not interested in contending for a few years. That's not just taking two steps backwards; that's taking two steps back while shooting yourself in the foot each time.

Once we get Smart back we’ll see the Jaylen we saw before he missed a couple of games. I don’t mind him creating a shot for himself every now & then but he’s best suited to playing a Klay Thompson type of roll.

Re: What is Jaylen Brown's ceiling?
I've seen enough bad luck watching teams screw us over to pass on hoping for another teams lottery pick. With our luck MIN would get #1 this year, draft Cade, and we'd get the 14th pick for Jaylen in 2022. We are not trading Brown for draft picks.
