Maybe I’m just delusional but I’m starting to think John Collins to the Celtics might be a real possibility. I guess it’s just getting late. We’ll see.

One possible scenario, if it's a Toronto trade, is TT goes to Toronto for Baynes and a protected 1st round pick then Celts reroute Baynes, another Celtic player, and 2 protected 1st round picks to Sacramento.

Only fair if the Hawks will accept a 1st round pick for Collins.

Other than that, it will be overpaying for a soon to be free-agent.

Knicks need a big.

Thompson to Toronto
Baynes to New York
Boston gets 2nd round pick.

Knicks get.a big rental with a option for next year at reasonable price who plays D until Robinsin returns.

Boston cuts 9 mil.

Leaves everything open

That's also a good trade.

I just don't like the idea of helping our division rivals.

Collins probably makes more sense than Barnes because the Celtics could avoid the tax this year. I mean $25 million of Collins vs $22 million of Barnes. Collins is younger. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ainge is making a major push for Collins

While I salute your memory of song lyrics that were new in your childhood, I think it would be cringeworthy to put "love" in the title of any trade thread so long as Kevin Love remains in the league.

It has to be OKC or the Knicks if we are trading TT. And then it would be TT and one of OUR picks for cash or a top 55 protected 2nd rounder.
Alternatively, the Kings would have to take him after they shed Barnes. The Kings are right at the cap now, so Barnes into the Celtics' TPE puts then at $87M so the could take up to $22M off the Celtics hands, if incentivized to do so.

I think that TT to Toronto rumors came from the Toronto side.

And it's not Toronto doing the Celts a favor because the Raptors badly need a Center.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't trade TT to Toronto.

Collins or H Barnes please give me hope for THIS year, AT the right Price of course.

My MAX offer would be:

1st + 2 2nds + Teague for Collins and Rondo.

1st + 2 2nds + Semi/Grant Williams for Barnes

2 1sts + 2nds + Semi for J Grant

1st + 2 2nds +, Grant Semi/Grant Williams for A Gordon.

I believe all are reasonable offers.

I have zero emotion to any of this. Celtics could be interested in Steph curry and I would still not get excited about it until I actually see it happen. Said this last year too when nothing happened or during the draft

Going to be a long next 10 days. Fortunately the Celtics play 6 games during that stretch

I don't love Collins game. I'd rather have lonzo as rfa add. But I was listening to a podcast with Karalis and forsberg and I liked the idea of getting a young guy like this and eventually using them as trade ballist for Beal. I think Collins may get stupid money from Minnesota though. You could always work a sign and trade for like Beasley back but that's not really the long term goal here

Or if Collins leaves in FA to a capped out team, maybe they'd send back a good enough player that we'd be happy to use the TPE that way.

Yeah, right ...

Well it's gonna take a Steph Curry caliber acquisition for this team to compete for a title this year. And obviously that has no chance of happening, so what does it matter anyway?

It’s all about adding talent. You can make trades later. Can’t make trades if you have nothing that teams want.

Hawks can get a better deal elsewhere than Boston...dont think ainge deals smart and ainge basically killed trading for players about to be free agents. I think there’s interest from us of course- but not at what it would really take to get Collins

We will see. Not saying the Celtics will trade for him. Just saying we will see.

You mean your childhood. :D

I first heard that song on Broadway in the 1980s.

When I think Kevin Love & music, I think Brian Wilson & Charlie Manson.

Bagley fractures his hand (left?) my guess is he is done for the year or close to it. (see GH or Romeo for length of time)

Close the trade thread, were getting H Barnes. Unless we want to talk about secondary trades like Nance, Lonzo or Rondo :D

Make it happen Danny Boyee or feel the wrath!!
