Cam Johnson seems incredibly unrealistic. Why would BRK give away a valuable piece of the return.

Curry's salary is low enough that BRK could get something for him vs dumping for nothing.

Crowder could work, but bad roster fit here now after Gallo.

Who knows what a team would do if it meant getting KD? The Celtics do have multiple TPEs, and they could prove to be the difference in whether or not a trade for KD can be made. Whether Curry or Cam Johnson comes back to the Celtics is perhaps wishful thinking, but isn't that what we are here for? :) It could be that Boston is not even part of the trade, but if our TPEs come into play we could perhaps get back a good player, and that would be sweet.

Agreed, then a PG and we're set for next season.

Which vet min PG(s) are you imagining might be available who would make an impact for us next season?

Still hoping for Rubio. No idea if he will be healthy.
Good assessment:

Rubio has committed to the Cavs.

Definitely. Big question is if there are any buyers.

Doubt they're shopping him, doubt there are buyers.

Keep in mind they have none of their own picks. They can't suck. Makes most sense to keep Simmons and hope to rehab his value and sell high(er) later.

Bucks fans proposing Hill + Nwora for Justin Holiday. We can beat that. Send Stauskas home and a 2nd lol.

Also, I'm pretty much rooting for the Pels in the KD sweepstakes for a ton of reasons, mostly involving sticking it to people, KD and "The Brow" front and center.

But he also prevents them from taking Bam back for KD, for instance. So, if they're in those kind of talks, he's on the table to go somewhere and get assets back - not giving him away or anything.

Unless you want the deal from Phx. Because you couldn't have both Ayton and Simmons on your roster on maxes, right?
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

Because if the Celtics don't help facilitate the deal, the deal doesn't get done. It's called being opportunistic.

Who says that's the case though? Cam Johnson makes $5.9M. That's a relatively small amount of money. The Nets have a TPE that fits him so he wouldn't have to be included in any of the salary matching on their end. And the salary matching math is more likely to be a problem of Phoenix needed to send more than BRK having to cut back what they take.

It's an absolutely preposterous scenario to think that BRK would need to or want to move Cam Johnson to facilitate the deal. Very reasonable to think they could need to or want to move Crowder to do so, but it's fantasy la-la land to say it with Johnson.

I could see the Celtics trying to pry Simmons lose from Brooklyn to help facilitate a MIA or PHX trade. Haven't we always sorta liked him in the front office?
