If the Celtics get 2 completely unprotected picks from the Kings, it would be a very good trade. The nice thing about dealing with the Kings is they are in the WC so it will be tough for them to make the playoffs.

As mentioned before, kings can't give this years pick plus it's highly doubtful they give up that many assets for rondo. Made up rumor from non-legit source. Nothing to see.

Just throwing this out there..

Chicago is 9-13. Falling fast out of the top half of the weak Eastern conference. No Derrick Rose the rest of the year. 3-7 their last 10 games and losing tonight at home to the Magic. Things are going downhill fast for them this season and they really will probably only get worse as Deng and Hinrich hit FA, Boozer gets older etc. I don't expect a fire sale or anything like that from them anytime soon, but what do you guys think would be fair value to offer them for Noah? Would Humphries, Olynyk, Crawford and the Clippers first for Noah, Dunleavy and Teague be fair? I'd love to get Noah on the Celtics.

I'm not sure of all of the Kings options under the CBA and if there is a work around that allows them to send 2 picks Boston's way instead of just one over the next 7 years. I certainly don't think the absence of a 2014 pick would be a deal breaker and the article just says 2 picks so I'm not sure he is stating 2014 pick. But according to another person it may be impossible for the Kings to give up 2 first rounders given how their trade with Cleveland is structured but perhaps that trade can restructured or Cleveland could become involved with this deal.

Some Celtic fans don't think its enough for Rondo but I certainly think its too much for Rondo especially without him proving his health in actual NBA games.

Can't see them trading Rose's best buddy. Now Luol Deng can be had though...

In a go for it now scenario, Noah is probably a very good target. Pretty good player who is paid a reasonable salary.

I'm assuming Olynyk has very little trade value right now. He may be good in the future and even sometime later this year but overall has been a mild disappointment this year. Unless the Bulls are prepared to give up on Rose, I'm not sure if Crawford has that much value to them unless its just to deal him elsewhere. Crawford probably has more value to Boston then Chicago since the presence of Crawford makes it easier to trade Rondo. For better or worse, Chicago may be stuck with Rose for the time being since his contract is very large for a player who will have basically missed two seasons in a row because of injuries.

I would think the Celtics 2014 pick top 5 protected and the an option for the Bulls to select one of the Nets picks of their choosing is the minimum of what the Bulls would want for Noah. The Clippers pick as of right now is probably not considered much by other teams and that won't change unless they suffer a key injury.

If the Celtics could get Noah and then trade Rondo and the remaining assets for 2 more players that have a Noah like impact, they would have a team that could beat Indiana/Miami with a little luck. I see it very hard pulling all of this off.

I don't think anyone would give up a 1st rounder for Austin. Statistically he is the worst rookie ever.
And he hasn't shown anything this year. He isn't a point guard and he can't shot. He isn't all that quick , can't finish in traffic, and is under sized. He also lacks court vision/awareness.

He is actually shooting the 3 okay it is just the fact that he has only gotten to take 12 of them. At 6'4" 200lbs I am not sure how he is undersized at the SG spot. Ainge is a big fan and I view him as a more athletic version of JJ Redick who had a similar slow start to his career he also may just be the second coming of Joe Forte. If you believe in the talent I can see giving up a lottery protected first for him he is only 21 years old.

Rondo
Bradley
Carmelo
Sullinger
Asik

JCraw
Faverani
Lee

Is a rotation that just crossed my mind...Would be Bass/Brooks/1st for Asik and Olynyk/Hump/Jeff Green/better of 1st rounders in '14 to the Knicks, even though they'll never give up on their train wreck.

Could still have ours and LAC's in '15 and all the rest of the Nets action from '16-'18.

Noah is the perfect complement to Sully defensively. He can guard quicker big men and protect the rim. Those two would dominate the boards. And Noah and Bradley is one hell of a defensive combo. If we could get noah I'd be thrilled.

Don't want Melo and I like where this team is heading. If we cash in for a guy I want a guy who does it all not a one dimensional player.

We're up against the practical salary limit this season, and next season we need to pay Bradley, Crawford, and draft choices. So how much salary can we really add, even if we had a trade exception that was infinitely large?

I guess the answer is well over $0, especially if we don't also use the MLE. So maybe you're right that it does matter after all.

I am not sure that this team is going to sign Bradley and Crawford to start with, would think one of them is back but I can think of lots scenarios that don't bring back both. If Boston makes the move for Asik maybe then you make a deal with ORL for Afflalo. What I am saying is options, a man needs options.

LOVE the QUOTE  8-)

How many guys who do it all are out there? Melo is at least in the same range as Pierce and Allen five years ago..

And I wonder if Jordan Crawford for Austin Rivers could happen.. NOP gets another guy who can handle the ball, we get a guy under contract.. could expand it to Lee/Crawford for Rivers/Aminu..

Hi Guys, I am a lifelong die hard celtics fan - first time poster having read the forum for many years.
I just had to post this trade idea i came up, it works in the trade machine.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=o8bfbd2

I had a trade idea i figured cleans up some of our salary crap and gives us a great building block for the future.
Please tell me what you think of this trade idea - how realistic/plausible it sounds. I would perhaps throw in the clippers 2015 draft pick to the warriors in this scenario if they needed convincing.

NY: - Loses Amare but adds David Lee and Gerald Wallace
WHY they replace amare with a productive former knick player who can held them inside and have to eat the wallace contract for an additional year as a penalty

Boston - Loses Humphries/Bass/Wallace but adds Harrison Barnes and Amare
WHY We trim 1 year from the salary hell of wallace by taking on Amare and in exchange we get a legit stud in Barnes who has no room on their team

Warriors - Lose Barnes and David Lee but add Humphries and Bass and we can even throw in Crawford or 1st since they need a backup pg
WHY they are stumbling and are really hurting for depth inside and backup pg we give them 2 sold bigs and they get rid of their most overpaid player in david lee they lose Barnes but with Igoudala and Klay theres not a lot of room for him anyways

Thoughts?
Thanks for reading.

Warriors are hurting for depth inside so they trade their starting power forward? I don't know if they're trying to get rid of Lee's contract, but if they are, I don't think they need to throw in Barnes to make it happen..

Based on the buzz that we've talked to SAC, but not about Rondo, I'm predicting Courtney Lee to the Kings.. we could take back Jason Thompson for bench depth (unlikely), or do Lee for Outlaw/Fredette.. Outlaw is cheap and has just 1 year after this, Fredette is expiring- neither guy is doing anything in SAC, and Lee would give them a reliable 3 and D guy to start or come off the bench while Mclemore develops..

Thanks for the feedback my rationale was that David Lee may very well be a starter but he is making 15+ million for the next 2 years therefore he has negative value - in my opinion 1 of the worst contracts in the league.
brandon bass gives you worse offense but better defense for significantly less money and kris humphries give you depth this year to make a run. We can throw in Crawford as they are also lacking a backup pg and the clippers pick since they traded their picks to Utah.

Yeah it makes some sense if they're down on Lee for his defense.. But I always thought Bogut compensated for that a little..

My instinct strongly says...
Boston sends: Gerald Wallace, Brandon Bass, Jordan Crawford
Boston receives: Ben Gordon, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Houston sends: Omer Asik
Houston receives: Brandon Bass, Jordan Crawford

Charlotte sends: Ben Gordon, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Charlotte receives: Gerald Wallace, Omer Asik

That makes a deal a bit harder than I thought. I was under the impression they had $500k or so.
