Yes. Al was extended last season. It was a 2 year extension - so this season and next season. Then he'll probably retire, in 2025.

You can have the Jays, but this here is my guy (esp after they traded Mahcus). Just makes smart plays on both ends. Him being extra aggressive on offense makes the starting five unguardable. Every single one of them is a three-level scorer.

Guessing the extension doesn’t happen. Probably would have already but I think he’ll probably explore free agency when he can. Not that he’s unhappy or that I have any reason to believe that, but expect there’s a possibility he gets a bigger check elsewhere as the CBA and salary cap continue to push salaries upwards the next couple years.

Relax, we can just extend him next season. He’s got 2 years left. That’s a long time from now. Not a free agent till 25-26

I'd prefer an extension just for the roster management piece of it. Even if you don't intend to keep him long term, he has more trade value next year with multiple years in place vs. as an expiring (unless it's a stupidly, absurdly big extension, but I don't think he's even allowed to sign for a number that would qualify as that).
