Because if the Celtics don't help facilitate the deal, the deal doesn't get done. It's called being opportunistic.

Who says that's the case though? Cam Johnson makes $5.9M. That's a relatively small amount of money. The Nets have a TPE that fits him so he wouldn't have to be included in any of the salary matching on their end. And the salary matching math is more likely to be a problem of Phoenix needed to send more than BRK having to cut back what they take.

It's an absolutely preposterous scenario to think that BRK would need to or want to move Cam Johnson to facilitate the deal. Very reasonable to think they could need to or want to move Crowder to do so, but it's fantasy la-la land to say it with Johnson.

No one is saying is going to get done. You asked how it could get done? Celtics have multiple TPEs and Ayton has some BYC contract issues. Suns/Nets may need a team to take back salary to get a deal done.

Helping send KD to the Western Conference and getting a valuable piece back for the bench is a no brainer.

Crowder, Johnson, Curry, who cares. Any one of them, in addition to Gallo, is a major improvement over what we had in the Finals.

This can't be said enough. Celtics are contenders.

I'd trade all of our first round picks for nothing, just to make a point.

We're closing in on 150 pages and we have Gallo to show for it. Fine work everyone.

Liked Huerter, not for this team as currently constructed. But for that type of return makes you wonder if Brad either showed no interest or if, in fact, using the TPE is predicated on also sending Thies out, as I do suspect.
Baylor is Brat.

Welp. There goes Justin Holiday. And Huerter. Traded for each other.

We could've beaten that.

Hawks just wanted Holiday brothers on the same team. I stand corrected. We couldn't have beaten the offer.

The Kings FRP is going to be a lot better than the Celtics. I think the Hawks knew that.

It depends on the pick they are getting. A kings pick is more valuable than ours.
