That makes a deal a bit harder than I thought. I was under the impression they had $500k or so.

Yep they need to send away more Salary than they receive. I think it is just under 500 K though, but different sites have different total salaries for the Cs. 500k is not much cushion either. Ainge will want get more space under the tax with any moves he makes. If its a larger deal like Asik for instance my guess is he would hope to give send away at least 2 million in total salary.

Hoops Hype appears to round up a couple Salaries which is why it is off. Hoopsworld has the Cs at 71.219 million which also matches Salaries reported on ESPN vs Hoopshype at 71.631. My observation has been that Hoopshype is less accurate. i am not sure which is right though.

Interesting....we had a young defensive center who wanted to be overpaid and traded him for Green. During that time, we never aquired another long term solution at center...and now we contempating trading Green..for another defensive center that would like to be overpaid...

Any insight on the C's being in on this potential MKG availability? I'm not into the idea of trading Green for a big or some future asset and just wandering into the future with no solution at the 'quick forward' spot.

But if MKG were coming back that could be a different story.

That would be an epic heist by Danny. Doubt the Cats would do it.

No way Ainge sends Green anywhere. Green is his boy. He's young, athletic, good shooter, very talented. We will do everything we can to get Asik for something involving Bass. If can't get a heist we don't do a deal. But we might be in a position to because Houston is looking to contend and Asik is demanding a trade, so they need to get something of value.

I see your point, but having a guy under team control for 1.5 years is a bit different than the 4-5 years and >$40m Perk would've asked for and gotten on the open market. I also don't think Perkins ever sniffed the rebounding levels that Asik operates at.

Anyway, moving ahead, a lineup of

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sullinger
Asik

is pretty dirty. That is a tough minded team that would put up a fight against anyone in the league

Good call, 165bows. From Chad Ford on insider:
Charlotte got its first solid win of the season against Golden State last Monday and is on target to reach its goal of making the playoffs. And I don't think the Bobcats' aim is going to change.

From what I can gather, all of the Bobcats' phone calls are about making this team better now. I'm even hearing rumblings that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be on the table when he returns from injury.

:o Rondo/Avery/MKG/Sully/Asik :o That's s a potentially historic starting 5 on the defensive end.

I don't think Chicago is dumb enough to trade Noah. Few teams in the league are.

I think Jeff Green is better than Gilchrist

Danny has been and always will be all over MKG. He was the first on Danny's list of "legal tampering" 30 minute interviews that they do pre-draft.

I haven't heard anything, but I hope we snag him.

The idea would be to keep green, and use mkg and green together....or as a backup once we find a suitor for wallace

Bass would actually work excellent on that team...kemba could use someone to dump it down for a midrange. All Jeff and bass would work well.

Its also a potentially historic starting 5 on the offensive end, and for the wrong reasons.

I mean Bradley would be the best shooter in that lineup for goodness' sake.

But a very is Michael Jordan illegitimate child, so I would give him 30 shots a game, just based on that virtue alone.
