Don't think for a second Irving's not looking at Hayward and his contrat and saying do I really I want to be stuck playing in the next 3 years. I have a feeling that is where some of this talk of Irving leaving is coming from.

No. That’s what you personally want to be true. There is absolutely zero evidence of what you just stated.

What I want to he true is Hayward playing well and not scoring 2 points a game.
Regardless of that Irving simply can't be looking at Hayward and thinking this is who we are chance to win a title with. I mean if you were Irving and you had Hayward on your team what would you be thinking?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you once want anything positive to happen to the Boston Celtics. I’m honestly not even sure why you post here to be frank.
If I’m Kyrie I’m hoping he returns to all star form sooner rather than later, I know he has the talent and as a team we have to find a way to bring that out.
There are also 13 other guys on this squad trying to help Kyrie win a title

Celtics won't win a thing paying Hayward 30m a year for the output he produces. Hayward's showing no signs of improving. He's pretty much turned into Kelly olynyk or Jeff Green where he plays well once every 10 games.

You know what might be going through Kyries head as well? That he’s this way because of me. Kyrie threw the lob pass, if anyone was to be understanding of Hayward’s situation, it’s him

Well the situation is th Celtics are paying a 30 million dollars a year to a guy that looks like he belongs on the red claws. Hayward has the worst contract in the league and it's not even close.
And no it was not because of Irving it was because Crowder was still upset that the Boston crowd was cheering for Hayward so he wanted to give Hayward a little extra.

Tell that to Kyrie, he was in tears when that happened because he threw the pass.
The money is irrelevant at this point. This is the team and they are a contender as currently constructed

The notion that Kyrie is alone on this team is **** ridiculous. They made the ECF without him last season it’s not like we crumbled when he’s not playing. Also Kyrie has carried us a lot this season but that is what superstars are supposed to do when teams are in a rough patch. Also we are 12-2 when Hayward has a high usage (20 % or more) right now his problems are mental and with his confidence on top of his diminished athleticism.

I'm sure he felt bad and somewhat responsible is most people in his position would. But the reality is Crowder is 100% to blame.
The money isn't irrelevant though. He has the worst contract the league isn't tradable and it's going to prevent the Celtics from being able to land another good free agent.
Contenders? There are no contenders in the NBA any longer thanks to the warriors.

You could erase his contract from the books entirely today, they still don’t have room for a max free agent. Especially not after they have to pay their own guys.
He’s far from the worst contract in the league.
The Warriors can be beat. They’ve been on the ropes 2 out of the past 3 years in the WCF

"I was upset because I threw that pass," Irving told ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. "It was crowded up there. [Dwyane Wade] was on the back side. LeBron came over to help. Gordon jumped without seeing where he was landing. I wish I hadn't thrown it. I felt really bad about it."

No he isn't. Hayward is the second worst contract in the league after John Wall.

i still think hayward is being frozen out of the offense to an extent by the guys in the 2nd unit plus tatum. it would be nice for him to be more demanding, sure, but he isn’t getting the ball when he’s open far more often than not.

Yes he is. There’s a good 10+ out there worse than Hayward

Hayward is only under contract for two more years. The only place the talk of Irving leaving is coming from is LA because they are in the middle of power play because Lebron is about to lose it because the Lakers aren't going to make the playoffs and he is 34 years old. Talk about a guy looking around his locker room and saying I can't play with this for the rest of the season never mind 3 more years.

Otto Porter
Nicholas Batum
Kevin Love
Marc Gasol
Hassan Whiteside
Chandler Parsons
Gorgui Dieng
Paul George struggled the first 3 or 4 months after coming back his injury, he kept putting up numbers because he had to his team wasn't very good but he was sketch untl the spring that first year back and then he was back to his old self. I am not going to freak out about Hayward not finding his game at this point because the team has so many mouths to feed it isn't important right now. If it doesn't get better by next year then it is a problem but at that point you are year away from him being an expiring deal.

Also, Hayward in April is going to be much better. Hayward next April is going to be a completely different animal. So, Kyrie might think it sucks this year, but knows that it can all come together next.

lots of talk that gordon will become this and he will be good. may be so but its his confidence out there. he doesnt have that killer instinct and if he keeps learning how to be passive, thats what he will end up being.

Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
I am convinced that if you give Hayward 33 mins/night (if he can) and run the offense thru him and Kyrie as main options
- Hayward instantly gets back to 16 pts a night (down from 22 in Utah due to Kyrie)
- Looks way better
Problem is he is coming of the bench which is crap and that is a different skill that he has not done in like 6 years. Hard to get a flow of the game especially when your teammates almost never look your way.
He is socially cut out on this team.
