Not-so-Fantasy Team
-----------------------------

1)Rondo..........N. Robinson
2)D. Wade.......M. Daniels.........Lafayette
3)Pierce..........T. Allen...........Gaffney
4)K.G.............G. Davis...........S. Williams
5)Yao Ming.......(New Player).....(New Player)
....................(or Perkins)

Trademill
-------------
R. Allen
Perkins
Wallace
Finley
Scalabrine

Ray's contract is up.
A Sign-and-Trade is a possibility, or Celts could just let him go. Whatever helps us out financially in the future. Let's not make the mistakes we made with the last Big-Three in their waning years.
Thanks For The Years.

Pickup Dwayne Wade, at 28 Years he'll go for a number of years, and it will take whatever we recoup from R. Allen to afford him. This is a perfect match.

Perkins has heart, but going forward he's not our man. Trade, or make him a backup Center. Which I doubt he'll agree with.

Replace him with Yao Ming. Even with his inevitable injuries, at 7'6”, he can bring us much needed rebounds and pure height presence. And that would change the face of the Celtics around, for however long he can stay healthy. We are the second worst rebounding team this year, and we made it to the finals. Close up that hole.

We still need two backup Centers.

Wallace? Enough said.
Scalabrine still has appeal. But he's also a concussion liability, and can't really play the Center. Trade.
Davis is a good PF backup, but not quite what we need in a backup Center. Williams is Ditto at 3rd string.
We'll need to bring in one (with Perk) or two backup Centers.
Finley, at 38?
Sheldon Williams can play, and is good for the money. He ain't a starter, but there are up to 10 men on a team who aren't starters either. Keep him.
Lafayette and Gaffney (yeah, they're on the team). Let's see what they can do; at the very least they take up space, as 3rd string injury insurance. Plus they're cheap.

Robinson, T. Allen and Davis showed hunger and aggressiveness. Daniels, and Robinson as well, will be here for the full year, and will work out much better.

What Do You Think?

D. Wade and Yao Ming? Nah, I'd much rather have Lebron and Dwight Howard.

Wade and Ming are on the market, and can actually fill positions that we need.

Ok, I'll bite. What would we trade to Houston/Miami that would make these trades possible?

Wade & Ming are free to sign original deals. No Trades necessary.
Obviously, I put this out as something to get people talking. Though it is a little far flung, it is plausible.
If I told you three years ago, that the Celtics would be in the Playoffs for the next three years, and could have potentially won three straight titles (save for K.G.'s injury), you would've wondered what facility I was writing from.
As we have seen, right & wrong are not always the most important elements. Initiative and/or original thinking counts for something.
Every important invention in the world, has come from the imagination...when no else believed.

First off you should stop sniffing glue. The salary cap next year is going to be around 50 million and next year the Celtics already have 63 million is salary committed. If my math is correct you want to add Yao for 17 million a year, wade for about 15 million a year and lose Perk (4.3 million) .

The Celtics salary next year will be 90 million. Not bad, only about 40 million over the cap. I am not even going to get into the huge luxury tax ramifications the Celtics face.

Even if we let every single expiring player go this year, we would still be over the cap space. Unless you do a trade, its impossible to get Wade or Yao.

I'm sure Houston is dying to trade Yao Ming for Ray Allen and that the rules of the salary cap will completely fail to exist for some reason in your little scenario.

Wade definitely is a high ticket item. But that should be offset to some degree from the removal of Ray Allen's financial hit. Look, something will be done. It's either keep Ray, or replace him. He's not going to get any younger, so this decision is inevitable.
And, don't forget, we actually are the second worst rebounding team. If this was your team, what would you do to change that?
Yao Ming – with his injury questions – may come at a greatly reduced rate.

Rem: How did we get Ray Allen, then K.G. in the same year, and then Wallace? Even Daniels took a cut.
Every player on this team, can get a higher payday.
But being in championship contention, is priceless.
The forgotten ones go for the money. The smart ones go for the ring.
We went from bottom of the basement – to champions. In one year! Think about it, beyond all the jokes – how could you do that again? Right now – for the next three years?

We traded high draft picks and young talent along with a large expiring contracts. We have none of that unless you consider Paul Pierce a large expiring contract which I don't. We've got all summer to talk about impossible retooling, can we enjoy game 7 against the god damn Lakers for the day?

Look, under the CBA it's impossible for us to sign either of them this year. That means we HAVE to trade for them and I can't come up with any possible trade that would:

A.) Be acceptable for both parties

or

B.) Work under the CBA

Not to mention what Ensoul said about being 40M over the salary cap. We should be thankful that we have an owner willing to go 10 - 15M over the cap space. Asking for 40M+ is REALLY pushing it.

^ You really should take a look at that FAQ up there. It'll explain to you why Yao Ming and D. Wade are literally impossible to get.
