Magic near deal for CP3?? seeking 3rd team

ORLANDO, Fla. -- It is draft night in the NBA, and it seems the Orlando Magic are in the mood to make a deal.

Rumors of New Orleans point guard Chris Paul coming to Orlando for Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson seem to be more real than the Magic are saying.

Local 6 sports director David Pingalore, through his NBA sources, is confirming the deal could be completed as soon as Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith finds a third team for Hornets Center Emeka Okafor.

How is this happening???? Paul opts in and he can clear as much cap for them as VC+Jameer together. Get it done Danny!!

I'm trying to figure out why New Orleans would do this if one of there main reasons to deal CP3 is to save some dough?

The Celtics could take on the contracts of CP3, Okafor, and Posey for Paul Pierce, Perkins, and Baby. Those three players are all of the books come next year.

It'd be a lot to take on from the Celtics view point but you end up with CP3. You then could use CP3 or Rondo packaged with Sheed's contract to bring in a major FA via S&T. Resign Ray then you've got a starting five of:

Rondo or CP3
Ray Ray
Major FA?
KG
Okafor

Bench:

Posey
Bradley
MLE
LLE
Erdin
L Goatee

is everybody in the east in a better situation than us I mean come on this is getting bad..
magic: orton and robinson way better picks than us and they were both lower. And rumors for cp3 and deng.

That is simple math guys, once they get CP3 they can easily get LBJ for S & T with Lewis the trade bait plus sugar.

While I am not exited about helping another team land CP3 it would essentially stop any chance of a Lebron/CP3 combo so that has its upside.

Boston could be that 3rd team to land Okafor by sending Perk and Wallace out.
