I take it Rudy Fernandez wouldn't want to play for Boston.

The Blazers are willing to trade guard Rudy Fernandez, team sources said Wednesday. However, Portland also is open to keeping the third-year player, and will not give him away for “free.”

The organization feels that the situation with Fernandez has come to a head, and his continued talk about playing elsewhere has created a situation that requires a resolution. If Fernandez chooses to play in Europe next season, the Blazers could place him on the suspended list. The team does not think it will come to that.

"If I could reach an agreement with Portland, so that they would not trade me to another NBA team and they would accept my return to Europe, I'd be pleased," Fernandez said. "My agents are looking for the best trade for me, but at the end of the day only Portland can decide."

And the recent signing of guard Wesley Matthews confirms that the Blazers are looking beyond Rudy Fernandez, whose current contract runs out after the 2010-11 season. As of right now, however, it doesn't look like Rudy will don a Blazer uniform ever again.

I am a little confused about what this kid wants. I thought he wanted more playing time but if this a situation were he just wants to go back to Europe because someone is offering more money than that would seem easy enough, have that team buyout the Blazers just like NBA teams have to buy them out.

Celtics get a legit 7 footer who can protect the basket and clog the lane. He'll be perfect for our offense and to defend against the offense of the lakers, magic and heat. We'll be very solid down low when we get perk back. Rudy will score big points off the bench together with nate so a defensive sf like cunningham can fit in well. We can still sign a sf.

Hm... I think that's a pretty solid trade, although I'm not sure the Blazers do it because Oden and Camby both have the durability of a wet paper bag.

Pryzbilla is out until december at least...he is basically done, so there is no sense in trading for him...

I'm not seeing the infatuation with JPryz, hes a good rebounder, but hes only decent defender and little in the way of an offensive game...i think JO is better than he is, at least he can hit the turnaround J...if camby or oden comes then thats one thing, but i think Wallace's immediate cap relief is worth more

I think that a situation were POR takes back no money and gets a first rounder is all they are looking for Rudy. We could just use the two non guaranteed minimum's but they are sort of necessary to trade Sheed's trade kicker.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happens as part of a TA/Brewer S&T.

Joel Przybilla is a major red flag coming off of two right-knee surgeries. But I'm not convinced that Portland would want to trade him anyways if you consider the injury proneness of Camby and Oden. And Rotoworld states that Przybilla has a trade kicker.

We do an S&T with Scal for Rudy. Scal gets a three year deal at 1m per year (or whatever salary is necessary to make the deal clear), with only the first year guaranteed. The Blazers waive Scal, and the Cs throw enough money in to pay Scal's salary.

The Cs also toss in a 2011 no. 1 pick, with lotto protection.

The deal clears.

We keep Sheed for another deal.

I think us getting a TPE for TA in a S&T is far more likely.

Unless you are privy to inside info, every indication is that Tony Allen is signed and gone. No S&T possibilities there.

I hope you are right and I am wrong because that would be terrific.

Why not just trade LaFayette & Gaffney with the pick?

Like I said in another thread neither TA or Ronnie Brewer have been announced, so until the NBA says so they aren't signed.

I am not telling you this is a fact just that Memphis had a S&T in place with Boston for TA and Brewer but Brewer chose CHI, I think that the reason that this hasn't been announced is now all three sides are seeing if a S&T helps all sides.

A very solid option except Ainge needs them to offset Wallace's trade kicker in a deal which is why they were signed.

I'd take Rudy in a heartbeat. We desperately need shooting off of the bench that is taller than the eligibility sign to get on roller coasters.

Rumor from a TWolve guy who broke the Al Jefferson trade before it happened.

Looking like a deal is almost complete that sends Sessions and Koufous to Cleveland, Brewer and Cleveland pick to Portland, and West (contract) and Nicolas Batum to the Wolves. Should be done soon.

Well, with the Daniels re-signing, there are few minutes for Fernandez. And I believe that he has convinced himself that his future in basketball is brighter overseas.

I think he could've found a niche with Boston. The NBA is the biggest stage in professional basketball and I'm surprised that he won't give it another try. I guess being a starter and an immediate star overseas is more appealing to him.

It isn't as if Ray will be here forever. He can't wait one or two years if Ainge really wanted to acquire him? If he truly belongs in the NBA, he might have been a part of Boston's rotation and then Ray's replacement in a year.

Rudy Fernandez would play over Marquis Daniels. It would mean no mins for Avery Bradley.
