You know this broadcast team is spoiled when a guy with a 20 assist triple double doesn't get the player of the game. Did he shoot like crap? Yeah, so what.

Great 5 on 8 win.

Love winning on a constant level again! I have a feeling we're going far if healthy(key!!!).

OT as much as it pains me to say this but Bynum is a beast this year (an immature on though), how the hell did the Lakers luck into this guys as a 10th pick? 30 boards is old school crazy.

Yeah, I don't get that - what knee injury hurts like that but can be shaken off? A twinge of tendonitis? Hope it stays 'nothing' - that was hella alarming.

I agree that, on the whole, it was a terribly officiated game. That being said, the call on Pierce at the end was the right call. His arm swung up and his hand made contact with Smith's neck/face area. You have to call that if you are a referee, imo.

I disagree. A foul is contact that creates an advantage for a player. Pierce was already by him and Smith beaten. Incidental, and inconsequential contact = no xall. Same as being poked in eye after a rebound.

smith acted and the refs bought it.pierce had already beaten him. smith also acted on the steimsma foul which was bogus as was the call where he fouled out as was the block on teague etc etc. it's amazing we won this game but again we lkept our composure

I can understand each of those calls being made in isolation - it's a tough sport to ref, and Pierce DID slap Smith's face, and Steamer DID start flailing like a spaz when tangled with Smith - enough so it looked like he was fouling him instead of vice versa.

All of them together really did feel bizarre, to a level I've rarely seen in multiple decades.

I was thinking it was ligament but after he walked it off I got the feeling it was likely a mild hyper-extension. While painful and likely to remain sore, so long as he doesn't re-aggravate it, he will likely be ok in the long-term.

I was at this game last night and wondered if it was as bad as it seemed live. That seemed like some really bogus officiating. Now I'm not going to read through 13 pages of game thread about a game I attended in person, but what the hell? The 6th foul on KG I mean, maybe it was a moving screen, but who is to say he wasn't just cutting to the basket? He has as much right to that space as anyone else.

The Steimsma offensive was totally bogus. Come on, that is not a foul in overtime of a close game. In fact, as usual, most Steimsma's fouls looked bogus. One of them it looked like the ball just got knocked away by another defender into his hands. The offensive on Pierce, maybe that's a foul but when do you ever see an offensive called 40 feet from the hoop in overtime of an NBA basketball game? You just don't make those calls. No one paid money and stayed up until 11 to watch the refs officiate a game to the letter of the law. You watch basketball to watch star players try to make a play and we were denied that by a ridiculous call 30-40 feet from the hoop.

The reaction in the garden was insane after the KG foul out, the Steimsma offensive and subsequent foul-out on the next Hawks possession, and then the breaking point - the Pierce offensive. There was a timeout and I'm not sure if it was captured on TV, but the entire garden stood and booed the 3 refs at who were at center court for the entire time out. You'd have thought the Iron Sheik was taking a dump on an American flag at center court based on the reaction. Thank God they won, that ended up being a late night and I would have been pissed off as hell if they didn't walk away with a win!

Also is it true what I read in another thread? Heinsohn slammed down his headset in celebration when Rondo tossed the ball up in the air? hahaha.. Gotta love him! I usually think the fans are overreacting about the refs but that seemed awful last night.

Also Bass - I got several text messages saying it looked real bad. Couldn't believe he got up and stayed in the game. I still haven't seen a replay. I wouldn't be surprised if he sits the next few games because that's definitely going to swell up and hurt the next day.

Anyone got any updates on Bass? Really hope it's nothing serious.
