This is ridiculous. I guess Banner 17 means absolutely nothing to everyone in this thread, because it wouldn't exist without Ray.

Ray was a great Celtic and I appreciate everything he helped us accomplish over the last 5 years. I'm gonna spend the night watching Ray Allen game winners and clutch shots (that apparently mean nothing to everyone in this thread now).

Guys, this sucks I know.

Two points:

1. Celtics told him at the trade deadline that he was getting traded to Memphis. Doc actually called him and told him that. We were dying on this board to trade Ray Allen.

2. Many on this board, and I have had dragged out discussions, hated having Ray Allen on this team. There were many threads whining that DOc ran the offense around him (not true), and that he was holding Rondo back (not true).

It was OK to trade ray if it benefited us, but when it doesn't benefit us he is a traitor?

I don't feel anything besides looking at it as a roster problem. We desperately need to replace that shooting and scoring. Terry isn't going to do it, Ray's a better player.

We are a worse team now, and it isn't Ray's fault. We showed no loyalty at trade deadline, he showed none here. That's the business.

There's been at least a couple people try to make that claim. It is so far away from being that bad because 1) yes, the Heat are our "rivals" right now but the Lakers are always our rivals. 2) Bird/McHale/Parrish were basically here from day 1 on. Ray Allen has spent practically 5 years or so with every team he's been on.

Let's keep things in perspective.

That's why I said ALMOST like, not quite the same thing. Ray wasn't here as long as them obviously but it's along those lines because they're the "Big 3"

Add 1 more motivating factor for KG/Pierce/Rondo/everyone, allen thinks he has a better shot at a ring down in south beach, so lets beat them and prove him wrong.
