Rajon Rondo had a streak of 27 straight games with 10+ assists going until the Bucks game, where he fell short. Those 27 games were tied with John Stockton for the NBA record. But in a shocking revelation, Rondo got awarded an assist they missed in the game, giving him the NBA record with 28 straight.

Sean Grande ‏@SeanGrandePBP

Rajon Rondo's been given an assist they missed in Milwaukee. That makes 11 for the game and thus a new NBA record 28 straight games of 11+.

 Congrats to Rondo!

I thought he only had to get 10 assists to keep the streak alive? Everyone was happy after the game that he reached double digits.

So he needed 11? I am confused.

He was riding on two streaks: at least 10 a game, and 10+ a game.

I was thinking after reading the game thread last night, how important are these streaks to you guy? Or could you care less?

I could care less but more so when it comes to stats like "only player to average more than 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 13 games in a row". I care a hell of a lot more about the win/loss record.

I hate the fact that they don't include the playoffs but still a very impressive feat none the less. Will be in springfield one day for sure.

Alright I think I get it now. Idk if my reading comprehension is off or what. So He's still got the 10+ assist streak going.

I wonder if he would have played the Chicago game differently had he known the 11+ assists streak was still alive

No he hasn't. Yet. You should change the thread title to "Rajon Rondo 10+ Assist Streak Tracker"

Top 5 Streaks
Magic Johnson [1983-1984] 44 games
John Stockton [1989] 37 games
Rajon Rondo (current) 31 games
John Stockton [1992] 29 games
John Stockton [1991] 27 games

You guys are confusing things. The record he broke was that no one else had ever gotten 11+ assists in 28 straight games (although the streak is obviously over now). He still has the 10+ assist streak going and yes he hasn't beaten Magic's record for that just yet. Two different streaks.
