He knew it was coming: Doc Rivers fined for $25,000 for his comments on officiating after Game 2. Ripped 3 foul calls on Garnett #celtics

“Listen, I thought the fouls on Kevin, first of all they were horrendous,” Rivers said after the Celtics fell in to a 2-0 hole in the best-of-seven series that shifts to Boston for Game 3 Friday.

“And secondly, I thought they had a huge effect on us,” Rivers continued. “Kevin had three fouls that . . . I was . . . I mean, him not being on the floor, playing 24 minutes and never getting your rhythm, where you could see, it looked like he was going to have a game, it hurt us.

Meh. Might allow some of the calls to go our way in these next two games at home.

Well, they had time to listen to Doc's comments and fine him, but yet they couldn't fine any of the Knicks for flopping? Great job NBA!!

Usually complaining about the refs pays off later. Hope it ends up being worth it for Doc's sake. and LOL@tommy in that video. These refs are going to be the end of him eventually.

The Knicks guards looked like they were riding a roller coaster with all that ridiculous armflailing. If your a ref with any selfrespect how do you not just assume that theyre flopping?

Now that Doc's put the spotlight on the officials we probably will get the calls slighted in our favor all because the officials are so easily influenced by the crowd. It's all very embarassing. If you can't even do your job in the playoffs you shouldn't be doing it at all.

please don't whine about calls...I also remember pierce getting away with a flop offensive foul on Melo the play right before the KG trip which helped you win game 1 2 years ago (i believe pierce even admitted to the flop after the game which I respect)

the FT's are even (+4 for the celts in game 1, +4 for the knicks in game 2)

I will acknowledge that prigs did embellish that call on green and I don't like that foul being called as it had no bearing on the play (prigs wasn't grabbing a rebound over KG and Green).

However Crawford (clean strip) I will give you that, clearly pulls JR's are down so that he can't grab the loose ball.

KG is one of the biggest offenders for moving screens (he clearly went high on felton there and gave him and elbow to the chops).

All in all I think the officials haven't been terrible in officiating either game. Not like Harden getting to the line 20 times in one game. Both teams have been allowed to play physical defense which I like.

I will state that the knicks have gotten the benifit of the doubt on some of the 50-50 calls but isn't that how its suppose to be? The home team might get a couple more 50-50 calls. So I expect the Knicks will have to deal with a few questionable calls in boston on friday. It just comes with the territory IMO.

I don't care about the fouls because that's not the reason why the Celtics lost. I only care about making sure your guys get fined for acting like sissies.

It was almost humorous---the way these Game 2 Refs let the Fans make the calls for them...I heard quite a few whistles go off, AFTER the NYC Courtside Crowd Screamed.

Knick fans still crying about the playoffs from 2 years ago, I hope our team is never that irrelevant

 You guys complain about the Heat series all the time.

Anyways some of those calls were absurd, but that was obviously going to get a fine.

Stick to the topic or it will be more than a verbal warning next time

We lost man, has nothing to do with refs. Refs may make a few bad calls in a game, but they don't make teams lose a 7 game series. That is on the players

Lol. You can argue that we wouldn't have won on Tuesday but you can't argue that officiating was not terrible.

Celtic fans can come up with a video full of terrible flops and calls all from ONE game RECENTLY. Knick fans have to dig up a video from 2 years ago on one missed call.

Let that sink in for a second.
