http://nesn.com/2014/01/report-rajon-ro ... nterested/Not sure this needs it's only thread, but it is from Boston. Seems like pure speculation. Maybe a sticky with all Rondo rumors would be good.

Phoenix is plausible. Iirc Ainge really liked Len and PHX has Okafor's expiring and multiple 1st rounders, although protected picks.

Boy rumors are coming in hot today huh? Celtics shopping Jeff and Wallace, Jabari to stay in college, Rondo to be shopped. lol
What stood out to me in the article was ''Rondo probably isn’t going to accept a role in a rebuilding situation with a rookie coach, Brad Stevens..''
Rondo has shown nothing negative towards rebuilding or coach Stevens. He has done quite the opposite actually. Not to say he won't lose his mind in 20 games after we lose 16 of them, but so far so good.

I think a Rondo stickie would be a good idea.
Put all these shoot-off threads in one.

People love to include Rondo in trade rumors purely because Danny Ainge is known to wheel and deal.
Rondo was just named team captain. His braintype is on the same wavelength as Coach Stevens's. He isn't going anywhere and pure speculation from fans and "anonymous sources" means absolutely nothing.

Rondo is the 2006-07 Paul Pierce to this version of Ainge's Celtic reloading plan, I dont think he will be moved.. we have enough picks, and if Rondo gets this team winning while DA wants to tank (if he does), then he could just as easily offload Bass, Green or whoever else he wants to so he can keep Rondo around and load the team up around him in the next 12-18 months

Isn't this the same guy who posted false info regarding the Steez compensation for masslive.com?
One of the worst things about the internet is how it seems to have made piss poor journalism an acceptable thing.

So many articles, and subsequently threads, about Rondo.
My bet is that we keep him, going into the future.
But, we'll see...

Keep Rondo unless blown away.

Rondo doesn't get moved until we know our draft position .. Plan A is a great pick and we build around that player .. Plan B we use our draft pick to continue to build around Rondo .. I just can't see Rondo ever getting moved unless we already have our next franchise player in uniform .. And I doubt Rondo can get us a franchise level player in return .. Argh my head hurts

No way this happens before draft night, and I'd be surprised if phx was willing to trade away a good enough pick for ainge to say yes

Agree with those saying the best time to move Rondo is the night of the draft when Boston knows their selection spot and the selection spot of teams like LA and Sac, whom I'm pretty sure can't move their pick until the day of the draft... Ainge can secure the tank by moving Green, Bass, and Hump...

Mitch Lawrence on Rondo, Sam Smith on Green.
These aren't rumors, just babble. Not even that they might not deal those guys, just that there is no substance here. Any poster on this board could make the same comments.

The other reason is that many teams cannot trade enough draft picks prior to draft day. By either drafting for us, or being able to trade future picks again, there are more picks available that day.

So true. If it doesn't come from Woj or Stein I don't pay attention to it. Those are the only two guys who put name out there when its pretty much going to happen. Everyone else just rumormonger

With the never ending Rondo trade chatter, i've asked myself why does the media and their "experts", bloggers and us fans question wether he's a player to build around? Shouldn't we ask, is he a player we can build with? Because i can't think of a single team that was succesful building around one star player. Cleveland couldn't do it with Lebron, the Knicks don't get it done with Melo, Orlando couldn't do it with Dwight, the Wolves and Love don't work out. They all had alpha-dogs to build around but didn't get it done to get the second man to join them.
Rondo should not be the number one option on any team, but is it a bad start for a rebuilding team to have a Robin on it's roster? When Batman may come via draft or trade?

Rajon Rondo understands his roleGrasping leadership
Steve Bulpett / Boston Herald
http://bostonherald.com/sports/celtics_ ... s_his_roleThough he has nearly always been a vocal presence on the club, he is essentially on his own now as the frontman in the Shamrock band. After yesterday’s practice Rondo acknowledged there are changes that come with the role.
“It’s a lot different,” he said. “I’m going on 28, it’s my eighth year in the league and being the point guard, it’s just all about timing. It’s a great opportunity....
“And it’s not just being a leader here,” he said. “If I want to go into coaching afterwards, it’s the next step to that, being a leader on the court and knowing how to talk to guys. You know, you can’t coach every guy the same way. Guys don’t take criticism the same. It’s a learning process, and I’ve been learning every year I’ve been in the league.”
With minor fan-fair, Rondo Returns from a year-long injury, as the 15th Captain. But, on a losing Celtics, that is overshadowed.
We're not trading Rondo -- that would be stupid -- but, he's on his own this time.
No Paul Pierce, No Kevin Garnett, No Ray Allen.
Just the 15th Captain...
