I want McDermott, even though he may be a reach at #6 I like everything about him..Has college experience, educated, good kid, not going to get you in off court troubles..Hell of a scorer / shooter, team first player, will pass the pall, creates his own shot, etc..will mesh well with players like Rondo and Olynyk in the line up.

Smart sounds like he could be a hell of a combo guard too, though... Gotta remember odds-wise at least some of the guys in the top 10 will bust. Trying to look up 96 and 2003 but my Internet is bad. I can remember Lebron, Darko, Melo, Bosh, Wade, Hinrich, Kaman.. did TJ Ford go that year?

Bump. Recall your pics from last year. I went with Vonleh, jury is still out on him and I thought he'd take some time but Smart looks to be the leader among the listed options. I'll be posting polls for our two first round 2015 picks soon.

I wanted Smart with the 6th pick. In hindsight, I think it was probably the right pick (a reach for Payton might have been better while not being unrealistic). Certainly feel confident in him vs his main competitors in the draft vs Randle/Exum/Vonleh/Gordon

Too early to tell with last years draft. Of the top 6 guys picked, most of them were hurt or played limited minutes.

It will take a while to sort this out - while we know that the Wolves weren't interested in this pick, we don't really know what else we could have gotten by trading it, As we see every year there is a lot of interest in these high lottery picks. Would it have been better to trade this pick? I hope Smart plays to a level that would erase that thought.

I'm was a Gordon guy and I'm still a Gordon guy. He had a disrupted season but I think he'll develop nicely the way the league is going at the 3 and 4 spots (or forward positions if you will).

He wasn't on the board though. I was and remain a Payton fan and I think we could have traded down to get him. I'm happy with Smart though, just not as high on him as some other are around here, but still happy.
