I watched Maniac on Netflix. Some of my friends really loved it. I thought it was good but didn't quite live up the hype. Not as good as stranger things, ozark, better call Saul, etc. It was really sad too. Jonah Hill was great though. It was cool to see him step out of his comfort zone. Anyone else watch Maniac?

Gonna check out haunting on the hill (I might have botched that title) next. Heard it was pretty good.

I thought Maniac was terrible. I had huge expecations too (the director directed True Detective Season One and Beasts of No Nation).

I loved the Haunting of Hill House. Carla Gugino is beautiful in it.

Bohemian Rhapsody was cheesy as hell but still very entertaining. Rami Malek was brilliant.

This is fake, but look at what I found. The real movie is slated for January 2020, with only Smith & Lawrence.
But, it would have been the ish, with the 4 of them!!!

I started it, I couldn't get into it. Heard good things about 'Haunting' - it's the director who did Gerald's Game.

If you have any inner teenage girl or genre fan, the 'Sabrina' series was entertaining. Am I the only hipster hole who watches 'Riverdale'?

I've just finished "The Haunting of Hill House." I thought it was trash. Interesting until ep. 5, then it goes off the rails in ep. 6 marred by the stupid dialogue and the horrible acting of two of the main characters (Luke and Theodora, the latter the director's wife). Things pick up a bit in episode 7, but fall off a cliff again in ep. 8. I stumbled to the finish line somehow. For a horror show, nothing seemed scary to me. In fact, the Celtics' play in the last few weeks has been scarier.

Like truth18 said, Carla Gugino is incredibly beautiful in this show. Not much more to write home about, unfortunately.

For a movie in the same vein (kind of) but well acted and much more engrossing, see "The Others" by Alejandro Amenabar.

"The Others" was mind blowing.

Been a while since I posted in here.

For those of you discussing Hill House...yeah. It ended up being ****. It was more This Is Us than The Others. Kate Siegel is so much hotter than Cugino. Just saying. Haha. Both hot. For a great show...check out Bodyguard on Netflix. For a good show...check out Homecoming on Prime. Also...new Ray Donavan is awesome.

Saw Creed 2 and Green Book. Creed 2 was nowhere near the film of the first but it was actually more enjoyable. Green Book is the best movie of the year. Hands down. This coming from a die hard Star is Born advocate.

RIP to GHWB. Politics aside, that man was an absolute patriot, loved this country and everything it stands for. And, an absolute gentleman. I voted both for this man (1988) and against him (1992), but respected him every step of the way. I would take 20 years of guys like him over what we have now.

What was the topic of this particular forum again . .. ?

Oh yeah, politics have changed so much since his time. I had a chance to meet him when he was at a place called "Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit, ME about 10 years ago. Even got a picture, but I wasn't in it. It was a quick cordial meeting. I also lived in Kennebunkport for 2 summers "91 and "92. Summer of '92 I had the pleasure of meeting many of his secret service guys as 12 of my friends were packed in a station wagon (1978 lime green boat) after a party (driver was sober). We heading down Ocean Ave, and I told the girl we should turn around as we were gonna have to go through a checkpoint because the President was in town. She couldn't turn the car around as it was a boat and there were 11 drunk people having a good time. My buddy said he would turn it around and he didn't even get the door shut and the secret service and local police were on top of us. They kept us there for a good 2 hours interviewing us individually. It was literally insane. Here we were 20-21 year old kids and they were asking us why we were going down there and such. End of the day, my buddy actually got charged with OUI, even though he didn't even shut the door. He ended up spending the weekend in the jail in Alfred because we were all poor and had no money on us at the time. Next morning my Dad, who has a police scanner, asked me how President Bush was doing last night? I was like, um, better than me and my friends. Crazy night and we still talk about it today. RIP Mr. President, I hope we didn't wake you that night.
