Celtics defeat Milano 124-91 in preseason opener

http://www.nba.com/celtics/game_recap/keys-2015100615-BOSMLN
Boston came out of the gates clicking on all cylinders Tuesday night in Milan. They dominated EA7 Emporio Armani Milano from the get-go en route to a 124-91 victory.

The C’s led for the final 46 minutes and 12 seconds and really took control during the final four minutes of the opening stanza. An 11-0 run propelled them to a 13-point lead that remained in double-digits for the remainder of the contest....

Hunter’s 3-pointer put the C’s on top by 13 and they never looked back. They led by double-digits for all but 19 seconds the rest of the night.

Five Celtics scored in double-figures, led by Isaiah Thomas' 18 points.
The Celtics committed only 14 turnovers.
Thomas made all seven of his free throws.
Milano shot just 8-if-16 from the free-throw line.
David Lee led the Celtics with seven boards.
Jared Sullinger came off the bench and scored 14 points in just 15-plus minues.
The C's shot 56.1 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from 3-point range and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Boston scored at least 25 points during each of the four quarters.
Alessandro Gentile scored a game-high 19 points on 9-of-20 shooting.
The Celtics scored a whopping 70 points in the paint.
Milano's one and only lead of the night was 2-0.
Stanko Barac blocked three shots for Milano, matching Boston's team total.
Thomas and Jae Crowder each recorded three steals.
Avery Bradley made all four of his 3-pointers en route to 14 points.

Perry Jones will miss Boston Celtics preseason game Thursday after death in family

Boston Celtics forward Perry Jones will miss a preseason game Thursday in Spain after a death in his family, according to the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach.

Himmelsbach reported that Jones will be returning to the United States while his teammates finish a two-game trip to Europe. The Celtics opened their preseason Tuesday with a 124-91 victory against the Italian team Olimpia Milano.

Jones scored two points over seven minutes, all in the fourth quarter. The 23-year-old, who could be fighting for a roster spot, missed a pair of practices last week due to a sore right knee.

Madrid is in preseason as well and they have some keys guys out of shape/injured, it should be a closer game than the one against Milano, but not sure how close.
Madrid plays at a really fast pace and in a way similar to Boston, really balanced team that share the ball, it should be a fun contest.
I think Taylor is out, the picture in the opening post is from two years ago, Mirotic, Mejri, in the NBA, Draper, Rivers, Slaughter, Bourosis in other EL teams, Madrid rotation with everyone healthy should look like,...

Llull-Rodríguez
Fernández-Carroll-Doncic
Taylor-Maciulis
Thompson-Nocioni
Ayón-Reyes-Hernangómez

Roster wise is the best team in Europe by far.

Thank You, for the heads up.
I just now put up the 2015 Champs. Do you have an image link to their 2015-16 Preseason Roster?

You will recognize former NBAs such as Sergio Rodríguez, Rudy Fernández, Jeffery Taylor, Andres Nocioni, Trey Thompkins, Gustavo Ayón, recent 2nd round pick Willy Hernangómez, young stud (16yo) slovenian Luka Doncic, former Utah St. and european vet Jaycee Carroll, Felipe Reyes from spanish national team, and Jonas Maciulis, he was a standout for the lithuanian team that lost to Spain in the finals in this year's Eurobasket.
Madrid's roster at full speed is a thing of beauty, and they could beat Boston, but they are banged up, it should be an easy match-up for Boston.

Should be a good game tomorrow if the Celtic players aren't hungover from partying in Madrid. I love that city and I am sure that the players are enjoying the Madrid night life.

Looking forward to this game. Real is much better than Milano and a top team in Europe, so it will be a good test...

I am hoping Smart is a little more aggressive with his shot and that rookies get some decent minutes...

I am also hoping Doncic gets a few minutes against NBA competition, that would be a great experience for a fellow Slovenian...

I'm surprised that we're seeing young guys on other teams getting thirty plus minutes their first preseason games. I didn't realize how crowded the C's roster is until their first preseason game. Hope to see Mickey and Hunter get minutes this preseason.

Apparently they are moving the servers to a new host tomorrow?

If I can't make the PG while the board is down, I'll make it as soon as I get on.

I hope someday in the future I can see Real Madrid vs NBA TEAM X in the playoffs.

Real Madrid is a damn good team. And they're down this year compared to others.

That roster doesn't look that good to me honestly. Jeff Taylor and Ayon were pretty fringey NBA guys. Wouldn't win a dozen NBA games in a season with that front court I think.

This team is better than the last one the C's faced; expecting a much tougher game.

Lot of former NBA guys; Rudy Fernandez and Jeffrey Taylor were guys I thought were going to have decent NBA careers.

There's been renewed interest in bringing back the Concorde and/or other supersonic options, which IMO is what the NBA+NFL are waiting for. So there's hope and a local company is one of the reasons.

From the linked article:

While efforts to revitalise Concorde continue, a number of other companies are also seeking to launch commercial supersonic flights. Airbus has filed plans for "Concorde Mark 2", a supersonic jet that could fly from London to New York in one hour. Independent Defence and Aerospace Analyst Howard Wheeldon has backed those plans. NASA, meanwhile, recently provided funding to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of California and other bodies to support their research into how to improve existing supersonic flight technologies.

Boston-based Spike Aerospace claims its proposed Spike S-512 supersonic jet will reach speeds of Mach 1.6 (1,100mph) and could be airborne in the early 2020s. Its passengers could expect to fly from New York to London within three hours but would need to adjust to one peculiar new feature: in order to reduce weight, minimise drag and maintain speed, the jet is expected to be built without windows in the main cabin. Instead, the jet’s interior walls would be covered in curved electronic screens that could display films or transmit footage of outside.

It seems the prospect of a return to commercial supersonic flights has had another burst of momentum.

It is the best roster in Europe by far, we will see if it is the best team.

That would be interesting. Let's see if they can get the expenses down, and make it feasible.
Mach 2 (or better) would be good, coming across the Atlantic.

Sadly, it looks like this game will be a test of our vaunted depth.
