curious as to how C's fans would feel about this offseason (go easy on me - long time reader,1st time poster):
1.trade 3, 16, 23 for #1 - draft Simmons
2. sign Horford and Whiteside
3. let Amir and Sully go
result:
IT, Bradley, Jae, Simmons, Horford
Whiteside, Olynyk, Smart, Jerebko

I'm gonna guess you will get mixed reactions, but it's not the worst proposal. Problem is, I don't think Philly does that.

Welcome aboard! Dang, 1 year until you made your first post! As can suggested, I don't think Philly does that, and I certainly don't think Whiteside would sign to come off the bench. Beyond those concerns, I love the spirit behind it.

I think I would do it, given that there are only so many roster spots and we should be able to land at least two nice additions with our five second rounders.
I wouldn't sign Whiteside and would be reluctant to sign Horford.

Hey, welcome to the board- I love that idea, even if the front court would have some problems and we'd still be challenged offensively.. Mostly the trade up for Simmons, no one's talked about that at all, but it might be possible.. Trading down for Dunn lets Philly look for deals for Okafor that get positional help instead of a draft pick- the price might be different, or higher, than 3/16/23.

Yeah, I'd absolutely trade up for Simmons (or Ingram), but then I have great concerns about our need to add to our team's already limited three point shooting.

thanks, guys
appreciate the nice comments and the opinions
been a fan since the late 60's - earliest memory - 1969 series v. LAL - Sam Jones wrong foot J to win game 4 and of course the game 7 win highlighted by Don Nelson's shot high off the back rim
really looking forward to the upcoming off season and the 2017 season

I can't imagine a way barring acquiring a top 5 player that philly moves off that top pick. Their tank has been such a failure up until now that passing up a guy like Simmons is near impossible.

That's great, I have some foggy memories of Bird in the late 80s (born in 82), but my earliest solid memory of Boston is of watching the ML Carr coached Celtics' road games on TV, during Antoine's rookie year, with Tommy and Bob Cousy announcing. I think we had Larry Krystowiak that year. Yours wins

I'm tier 2 in the Wall of Shame. That's basically Dragan Bender. I'll take it!
[tweet]https://twitter.com/KDonhoops/status/741753337830199297[/tweet]You pulled up the poolside chair, Kevin. Now, you gotta sit it in. Or you know, wait to get traded to the new team Lebron will be choosing for you.
[tweet]https://twitter.com/haralabob/status/741768144960688128[/tweet]Yep, yep yep yep. It wouldn't have been better either if we got Love when Rondo was still here. Rondo has been awful on defense past few years. (Not saying IT is bad on D. He's passable and has his limitations. He also tries harder than Rondo nowadays.)

Lolz Green suspended now, nice selective enforcement.

Lebron is such a bitch lol
Pretty much opens the Finals MVP to Steph though. I think Andre warrants it again as his impact has been ridiculous on both ends, but they won't go with him back to back.

I'm kinda glad Draymond got suspended. The odds of 3 groin shots all being accidental is nil. And if your defense for that is "he flails around a lot", then getting flagrants when that flailing makes contact is part of the price. Learn not to flail and hit people when you play.
That said, LeBron totally did that on purpose to try to get him suspended. He's been crying like a baby the whole finals and now has to take a player off the other team to try to win. Weak. Kinda sad (in a fun way...) watching him be so powerless in this finals.
Hope GSW routs them tonight without Green. McAdoo might get a lot more minutes, he looked pretty good out there in his role.

Suspension in the OKC series seemed much more warranted even if that kick may have just been an intentional flail to get a call and not an intentional kick to the nuts. Thing is if you are flailing all of the time in an aggressive manner, you don't know where you might hit someone. So, technically by letter of the rules perhaps Green didn't deserve a suspension for that maneuver but the league rules probably need to be changed to discourage leg kicks.
I just don't think unless the player connects and/or does more than Green, a player(Lebron) should be rewarded for clearly instigating an incident.
Sad thing is we all know if the Warriors had lost game 4, the league would not have suspended Green.
The NBA still has a WWF element.
Brian Windhurst supposedly said on his radio show that the NBA may want this series to go longer and that is why I doubt he was surprised with the suspension.
