And with the number one pick, the Boston Celtics select....? Fultz or Ball?
In a scenario where we get the #1 pick and keep it, who is your #1 pick?

Voted fultz. But in a scenario where DA is our GM. I wouldn't be surprised if he drafts Ball. Let alone 2nd pick.

Based off of everything I know right now? Fultz. But the NCAA tourney and their measurements can change everything.

Fultz is without a doubt an A1 superstar. You then have the next tier of guys such as Ball who could become that superstar but not there yet. Team needs offense and Fultz brings that in spades.
You also cannot rule out Josh Jackson at #1. This is not trolling but he's a Danny Ainge type of player that he covets. Would bet Ainge passing on Fultz for him.

I don't like this scenario because if we do end up there, it's due to:
-Danny unable to deal the pick for a star player, possibly due to not wanting to include too much else in the deal
-We gambled that the pick wpuld be number 1, even though that is the most riskiest option because it could have fell to 3rd and the best time to trade it is when teams are thinking it can be number 1
-We are on the clock and STILL Danny can't pull the trigger on a trade for a stud because we don't need another guard in a guard heavy top of the draft board
-We've abandoned our win now plan not by chouce, but by Danny's failure to cash in one of our best ever assets
So, any scenario we're making this #1 choice is bad in my mind.

don't want to get too off topic, but one could argue that if Danny makes this pick correctly he'll be putting us much closer to being true championship contenders than any offseason 2017 trade could have made. Fultz looks like top 5 player/superstar potential.

I'm scared **** he's drafting Jackson #1 overall. Elite defense no jump shot is definitely a DA type of guy.

Who knows what will happen, but right now the more interesting question is who does Danny pick at three?
Fultz at this point is far and away the top prospect.
Ball number two.
Three??? No bad choices, but the choices are harder.

Danny not trading the pick and it ending up at number 3 would be an epic failure.

Fultz. He has the god-given ability to hit contested jumpers with defenders all over him. You can't teach that skill. This team needs another primary scorer more than it does a distributor.
Think about it - this team has given up huge leads when teams go on big scoring spurts, especially when IT is on the bench. Last year, Evan Turner was a guy you threw the ball to when the other team scored 4-6 points in a row. ET would work his way to the elbow and pop the 15 footer to stop the bleeding and buy the Celts some time. As of today, there's no one off the bench who you can rely on to get 2 points. That would be Fultz's role in his rookie season.

Re: And with the number one pick, the Boston Celtics select....? Fultz or Ball?
Fultz 100%.
Let me tell you what is going to happen. Ainge is going to draft Fultz if the Celtics get the #1 pick. This off-season Ainge is going to present to the Thomas camp what the Celtics are willing pay for IT. If IT wants more than what the Celtics are willing to pay then IT will be traded and Fultz will be the next point guard for the Boston Celtics.
It is what Ainge always does.
Example: Drafting Smart and then finding out what Rondo was looking for in his next contract. It was more than what the Celtics wanted to pay so Ainge moved him.

I'd lean Fultz at this point but I'm not really informed yet.
I also agree with the question of who would they favor at 3, as that seems a lot more wide open.
Hopefully they don't fall past three. If they can't get top 2, at least get the pick of the rest.

Ball. Not even close either. Not only is he the best PG but he could be on the floor at the same time as IT and AB and complement both very well.

Fultz. Really I just hope that there are 3 really good players in the draft and he picks one of them because that is getting closer to reality every passing Nets game and bottom feeder win

"I really like this Michael Jordan kid, but we already have Orlando Woolridge and Quintin Dailey just killing it for us on the wing scoring 18ppg. Sam Perkins would be a better fit."
I get that you said you like Ball better, but I don't know why people take the current roster into consideration whatsoever when it comes to the draft. I should stop butting heads on it since people will apparently be doing it forever, though.

Fultz, Josh Jackson or trade the pick. Ball shouldn't even be in consideration. Will say that Monk or Isaac are interesting but neither are worth a #1 pick

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.
Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.
