Wow. No contest on the 1st. I wonder what rozier's trade value would be today, i've read somewhere in the trade board that smitty said last summer league that rozier was nearing untouchable territory due to all the hype he's got. Now he's down to earth.
so what big could rozier + minor pick get?
edit: changed minimum to minor

What's a minimum pick? A late second?

If Ainge inquired about Vucevic like A Sherrod stated then I think there could be a some potential for a 3 team deal with Bos/Orl/Mia.
Supposedly the Magic offered Vucevic and a first rounder for Dragic. Miami refused. I'm guessing it's because Riley wants a salary dump for cap space. Riley wants to rebuild quickly with free agents.
I could see a following potential trade where Boston gets Vucevic, Orlando gets Dragic and Miami gets a young player, cap space and draft picks.
Pretty Interesting.
Just a thought.

Boston Celtics eyeing Orlando Magic’s Nikola Vucevicby Ryan Doyle | Fri. 01-27-17
https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2017/01/27/orlando-magic-rumors-boston-celtics-eyeing-nikola-vucevic/For the Magic, this trade could send them back to a state of rebuild. Vucevic is one of the team’s best players. Getting rid of him could also lead to moving on from guys like Serge Ibaka and D.J. Augustin.
In all likelihood, the Magic will trade Vucevic for some young players and expiring contracts. The Magic could be receiving guys like Terry Rozier, Amir Johnson or Jonas Jerekbo.
Obviously, they are not the type of players that the Magic are going to build around.
Our Zach Palmer posed a trade with the Celtics that involved Vucevic a few days ago in a OrlandoMagicDaily.com round table post.
It sent Vucevic and C.J. Watson to Boston for Amir Johnson, Demetrius Jackson and Guerschon Yabusele. This is the kind of trade to expect if Vucevic gets sent to Boston. An expiring contract and two developmental players that could make an impact down the road.
Hmmm. Amir, and youth.
Make it happen, Danny.

I'm cautious about his potential role on this team, but if it's Amir + 2 or 3 of our middling prospects, it's a deal Celtics should do 10 times our of 10. You're not gonna find many better contracts for another 2 years and his defense is improving.

Still like Noel and Okafor. But Vuc is good, his defense is improving. Getting him not to be a black hole on offense will be tougher, but if the price is Amir, Jackson, Yabusele it's tough to say no. If we needed max cap space, or a trade for a star, he's movable. Might even be a bridge to Cousins, like Wally Z got us Ray.
Wonder if Ainge is thinking then he gets Faried/1st for Zeller+, gives up the cap space, but has the B+ All-Stars and two more high lotto picks. Horford/Vuc with Faried, Zizic and Olynyk off the bench is good enough to give you a puncher's chance.

I'd push for Rozier rather than Yabusele, but I guess that's dependent on other moves Ainge would have in mind. But, with a ball-handler heavy top 5 in the draft I'd rather thin the heard in the backcourt rather than frontcourt.

J Young and J Mickey for P Pierce, when the Clippers and Knicks make their Carmelo trade.

You don't think a core of Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Horford, Cousins would help land Hayward in the summer?

Nah, Rozier has more value. But I have the same worry - if we don't deal one of IT/Smart/Rozier, if we end up drafting a do-everything point guard, the collective trade stock of our backcourt's going to decline.

Vucevic costs less than Nerlens will, he rebounds better than either of them, he defends better than Okafor, he scores better than Noel, he's only 26 - it's a decent middle ground. He's been the best player on those Orlando teams for years, and if we bring him to Boston and he puts up points on a 50 win team, there's going to be a ton of hype for him like IT has started getting.
Word is Blake's re-signing in LA, I could give a damn about Milsapp - and if Hayward calls us back in July, we can clear 13 million off the books to get back to max space - or sign and trade for him. If he doesn't, we still have a new BKN draftee and 17-ish million to absorb Butler, Cousins or Wall, the combined money of IT/Bradley/Crowder and Vucevic, and/or newly extended Smart and Olynyk.
Adding Vucevic (or a cap hold for Noel) would leave us enough cap space to have flexibility while making us incrementally better. We could even trade Vuc at the draft, if we wanted to.
It's a relatively 'safe' move. Would even deal Crowder in the mix if it brought back Hezonja.

Was with you on your entire post until the last sentence. I wouldn't even trade Crowder for Hezonja straight up. I don't get the fascination with him. Agree about Vuc and his reasonable contract being a low risk and easily movable play. He'd be a nice additon that I doubt would cost all that much. Danny probably already has a feel for his chances of landing Hayward in free agency. If he feels the chances are slim (my own suspicion, given the new CBA and Utah being a likely playoff team,) it makes sense to upgrade if you're not giving up any of your best assets, particularly given that Vuc is pretty young still.

Point of dealing Jae would just be lessening the cap hit for us.
Amir/Jackson/Yabusele for Vucevic/Mario would be the dream.
Hezonja needs work - he's a raw athletic superstar who doesn't know how to defend, and right now he only knows how to take jump shots and dunk, so he's sort of Kedrick Brown without the D at worst. Or Gerald Green, who'd be a good cautionary tale for him.

In what world is New York getting 2 nets picks for bum ass Anthony? If we want Cousins, we can cut out Cleveland and New York and get Cousins without giving up Kelly and possibly Jaylen Brown.
