Per the Knick board, Begley has a quote from Porzingis' brother taking the angle (this is by now a paraphrase at third remove) "My brother doesn't want to be traded because he loves living in NYC. If he is traded, he'll play out his contract and explore all his options in FA."

Porzingis being a young European guy (from a small country no less), I can EASILY imagine him thinking NYC is the ideal place in the US to live.

But I also think being on an excellent team in Boston -- with a calm and likeable coach and executive staff -- would be a great situation for him he would not be quick to walk away from.

Thread title is a little misleading. He's not being shopped. The Knicks aren't ruling out trading him. That is a major difference.

I do. He's a rim protector with an offensive game perfect for Brad. He's not a Love-like rebounder but everything else is there.

I do like that he is mobile and can shoot the 3 ball....

But someone has to convince me that he would be "The Guy"

KG, he is not....just not sure about his makeup.....If he were more McHale -like underneath, I'd be interested then.....I suppose that he would still need to learn his craft some more?

I'm trying to talk myself into this one.....

Danny would have to really want him.....And Porzingis would really have to show that he wants to be a Celtic before I would approve doing a deal with the devil.....

We could retain him for another 6 seasons whether he likes it or not with restricted free agency.
