Trading away Lopez definitely makes them worse, will they play Russell next to Lin? If so the defence will be pretty shocking, but they may be able to outshoot a few teams

Russell, Lin, mozgov? That is an all-time historic terrible team.

So their lineup right now looks like:
Lin/Whitehead Russel/ LaVert/ RHJ/Booker Mozgov/
Fur sure this is a bottom 3 team right

Curious how they will play with Lin, Russell, and LaVert all with strength as ballhandlers. They could surely split minutes to give each more time with the ball, but, i don't have a good enough read on them as catch and shoot guys. I do tend to think they'll be one of the 5-6 worst teams next year, but, it was still a good trade for their future development. If Mosgov rediscovers his play from a couple of years ago, there's a chance they could surprise.
EDIT: I hope they struggle this year, of course, but I'll be rooting for them to win the 2019 lotto (with Sacramento at #2) and help springboard them back into prominence.

Nets played surprisingly well whenever they had a healthy Lin this past season. Problem was he was hardly ever healthy. Put him next to Russell and that's a huge upgrade over the Whitehead/Foye backcourt they trotted out last season. They will likely be very aggressive in free agency and could potentially price a team out of a good RFA like an Otto Porter. With a new batch of teams joining the tankathon this year I don't see them being a bottom 5 team pending health and free agency.

I can see them going after a young C like say Alex Len in free agency. Maybe they can make something out of him?

While Russell doesn't make the nets better next year, he finally provides a light at the end of the tunnel to the team. He is the only player on the team that you can look at and realistically think he will be there in 2 years.

That is exactly the type of player they should be looking at. The only problem is if you tie up too much cap space for the future in restricted free agents.

I have a hard time seeing Washington letting Porter go, almost regardless of whatever offer sheet he signs. Their only strength is their starting lineup and they have no avenue of significantly improving their team.

The part about Lin is true, but it also included a healthy Lopez. That part is gone and the drop off is yuuuuuuuuge!

The word around the NBA is that the Nets promised Wilson they'd take him. Whether that was at No. 27 (the pick they traded to the Lakers this week) or here is unclear.
Given that they just traded Brook Lopez (and because Timofey Mozgov is ... unreliable), a center like Bradley or Pasecniks makes sense here. However, Wilson could become a stretch-4 who pairs nicely with D'Angelo Russell.
Don't count out (Terrance) Ferguson here, either. The Nets have watched him closely and could use a shooter.

Trying to decide who will end up the worse team between the Nets and Kings. Obviously FA might change things as they both have cap space, but as things stand they are both looking truly horrific.
Either way, that pick is a gold mine. And if the Lakers stand pat on George this summer, we could be looking at two lotto picks next draft (while we compete in the playoffs for a Finals berth, lmao)
