Have I mentioned that Jay Crowder is better than average

Don't get me wrong. i would have been pretty excited if we traded Bradley, Crowder, memphis pick, Clipper pick and 2018 Boston pick for PG...but now that the dust has settled, I am glad we didn't. PG is better, than Crowder but not by much.

If you could have a guy that shot. 0.463 / 0.398 / 0.811, Ortg 118, DRTG 108, BPM 1.6, RPM 3.89 (top 5 SF) in exchange for Crowder Bradley and three first round picks you would jump al over it right?

I sure as hell would....but those are Crowders numbers. dude is a good player signed cheap for three more years. As i sober up from the PG hype and the 4 ...(should I have a fifth?) jalapeño Margaritas, i am damn glad we still have Crowder.

"PG is better, than Crowder but not by much."

This is where I stopped reading, and where you're entire argument came crashing down into a gigantic pile of rubble.

George is better by a LARGE margin and it's not even close.

Crowder is a role player, and cannot create his own shot. An he whines a lot on social media about leaving the Celtics because we don't respect him enough.

More importantly, its time to move on from Crowder and start Brown/Tatum.

he is certainly better, but the effect on winning is marginal. maybe i worded that wrong, but If this Cs team swaps Crowder for PG, what changes?

The change is minimal and not significant IMO. Like I said, if the price was right I would have been happy, but it wouldn't have made much difference IMO.

Jae is underappreciated and all these rumors (along with the SF draft pick) are set to light a fire under his ass. He is going to have a big year next year, if he can stay healthy.

PG over Crowder makes the Celtics a contender and a toss up against Cleveland, series could go either way. The Celtics, as is with Crowder, would be lucky to win two games against Cleveland.

That's the difference. And it's a big one.

I believe you are overstating it...but fair enough.

No I don't believe I am.

If Celtics can sign Hayward, then Crowder will be gone IMO. Just can't keep him around, he won't be in a good place mentally and could affect the team. If Hayward is not signed it will be interesting to see Celtics and Crowder's response. Make no mistake he's taken notice.

I get Crowder's value but he's in the way of progress at this point.

Ehhhh maybe. Just as likely that he sulks and complains and acts like a primadonna. He's pretty emo. I would love for you to be right btw.

Lmao. Crowder could never in a trillion million gazillion years touch what PG did in the playoffs vs Cavs. Go to sleep bud.

Gotta agree with BigTrade92 on this one. PG gives us a shot at the finals. If Jae was PG level we wouldn't be drafting Jaylen, Jayson, trying to trade for PG and sign Hayward, etc. Jae's great in his role, but that role isn't carrying a team to playoff victories.

Verbal diarrhea. Rather than dropping your dumb ass stats, the- PG13 averages 24 ppg vs Jaes 14. 6.6trb vs Jaes 5.8.

The team needs someone averaging 20+ a night besides IT, bottom line.

IMO, anything more than what Danny offered, would have been too much.

That said. -- PG-13 would have been a definite upgrade over Crowder.
But this "Sell the Farm at all costs Mentality" = No Go, on that.

I'd rather keep who and what we have, and wait.

Here’s What Celtics Reportedly Offered Pacers For Paul George On Draft Night

In a stunner of a deal, the Indiana Pacers reportedly agreed to trade the star forward to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

The Pacers reportedly had been fielding a number of offers for George, one of which coming from the Boston Celtics. According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, the C’s offered the Pacers three first-round picks — not including either Brooklyn Nets’ pick or the Los Angeles Lakers/Sacramento Kings pick — and two starting players, one of which being Jae Crowder.

Although there’s a chance none of the three first-rounders offered by the Celtics would be lottery selections, Boston’s offer certainly is a whole lot better than what Indiana received from OKC. A top pick might have been the dealbreaker for the Pacers with the Celtics, which Danny Ainge reportedly wasn’t willing to give up.

as i said before all this went down, i wasn't totally thrilled at the hayward/george pairing. so i'm not heartbroken here. i still hope we get hayward, because he won't cost any assets.

but if Indy takes oladipo/sabonis over our package... smh, dunno what to say. i sure as hell wouldn't trade the package we were offering for those two, not in a million years.

i think people are just scared to death to deal with ainge at this point.

I think Indiana did just fine for one year rental.
