Looks like we have 13 players with guaranteed contracts already: Hayward, Thomas, Brown, Crowder, Smart, Nader, Zizic, Horford, Baynes, Tatum, Rozier, Theis, and Morris.

I'm assuming that Allen and Bird will grab the 2-way roster spots.

Who else do we keep on the 15 man roster? Do we bring over Yabs? Do we keep Jackson? Do we bring back Green? Do we sign Semi?

Thinking we bring over Yabusele and re-sign Green. Sign Ojeleye and Bird to the 2-ways.

Allen has shown nothing, let him sign with the Red Claws and keep an eye on him.

Thomas/Smart/Rozier
Brown/Green/Nader
Hayward/Tatum/Yabusele
Crowder/Morris/Theis
Horford/Baynes/Zizic
Two-Way: Bird/Ojeleye

Looks good. I seriously think a Smart/Rozier/Tatum/Morris/Baynes lineup could beat the starting lineup of the Nets, Kings, etc.

EDIT: and just like that, Green is renounced, so never mind that..... Sign Semi instead!

I think Yabu gets roster spot #14. I think that´s a given. Then for the last spot it is between Jax and Semi

I don't think renouncing Green has anything to do with bringing him back since he is a veteran minimum player anyways.

Our bench is pretty wack from an experience standpoint. I'm not sure how that is going to work itself out.

My view is you need 8 reliable big minutes players.

Thomas/Smart
Hayward/Crowder/Morris
Horford/Baynes

That's pretty solid as it means the next tier (Brown/Tatum/Rozier/Zizic) can all get their minutes with hopefully at least one out of Thomas/Hayward/Horford out there.

I thought 165 made a good point in another thread that making the starting five much stronger reduces the heavy reliance on the bench that has been there the last couple of years. That was a good thing in the regular season but we now have three straight years of evidence showing the problems it creates in the post season.

Having at least one Zeller/Jerebko/Green type deep bench vet guy who is good at towel waving and keeping his sweats on most of the time but can step in when needed would be helpful though.

What about Crowder and Jackson for Vucevic. He actually started to shoot some threes in the last season. Would help us with rebounding as well.

Still think we need another big. Horford/Baynes/Zizic/Morris is a good core, but not enough IMO.

FA still available :

Pau Gasol
Kris Humphries
JaMychal Green (RFA)
Nerlens Noel (RFA)
Mason Plumlee (RFA)
Javale McGee
Andrew Bogut
Jordan Hill
Terrence Jones
Willie Reed
Alex Len (RFA)
Marreese Speights
Thomas Robinson
Lavoy Allen

Did Danny make an attempt at signing AB or talk to him about contract parameters before trading him?

I'm sure and it went like, "Thanks Danny, but I'm gonna get massively overpaid, burst my hammy/tear my Achilles so if you want to, go for it."

His next contract is gonna be a disaster for who ever gives it to him. Lest you forget, he had another hip issue in the playoffs this year. He's brittle as all hell.

It's not the number, it's the years. I think PHO haven't traded Tyson cause teams probably want assets to absorb his contract.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

With Thomas's injury and that Jackson is terrible, I think that we need a PG or combo guard to complete the roster. Sergio rodriquez, lawson, ennis, wanamaker would be the best options.
