This weekend there was a mini tournament as preparation for the euro's '17. Each day one game. Theis played the first two (against russia and poland) and flew this morning to Boston. The german media called it a Celtics related trip planned in advandance, so he couldn't play in third one today against serbia. No news if he'll be back with the national team for the european championships.

Edit: Couldn't even get decent box scores for both games (i've the first but not the second) the german national team website sucks ...

Thanks for the update, man!

He's probably joining Yabs, Nads, and co. for the informal workout that starts Monday.

In earlier reports, it said Theis woudl play with the German team in Eurobasket, so it seems as likely that the stay in Boston is brief and then he returns to Europe for as long as Germany is in the tournament.

BTW, Nads? Is that a nickname for Nader? Positively 7th grade. I like it.

So if he actually makes it into any games, I take it the inevitable Garden cheer will be, "Go, Nads!"

That's a pretty dank list of 'alums'. Do they do that on everyone's locker? Is it a 'welcome to the new guy' thing? Does it stay there?

Only name on that list I remember besides Jamal Crawford is Danny Fortson. And I can't even remember why I would even remember the name Danny Fortson.

With the trade I will double up on my prediction that Abdel Nader is going to be the most surprising rookie to emerge this year. Not going to be a star but his hustle will get him minutes and teams are going to kick themselves for not noticing him. And yes Nader is my binky this year. :D

People are sleeping big-time on this kid, imo. He has all the tools to be an elite level role player playing off of other star players - quick, strong, explosive, can shoot from spot up and off the dribble - he's going to turn some heads before the year is out...WAY more upside than Jae Crowder, who I am also a huge fan of. This kid will be much better all-around, definitely has "starter" level potential in the right situation and he should have plenty of opportunity to carve out some time as a 4 with 5/3 versatility.

He's a lot taller than I thought. I saw that picture next to tatum and they were essentially the same height at 6'8" but Semi is just built like a Greek God. I was thinking to mysel, how in the world did this guy not get taken sooner? Apparently if your not a freshmen declaring for the draft, your trash. So, I'll take it. I'm as psyched as everyone on here. He's built better than most NBA'ers will ever get in their prime. He's literally a football player.

What do you think about Yabu's role this year ?? With Zizic leaving, there is one more spot to take inside and his strenght/speed caracteristic could fit perfectly to the Celtics way of play

very cool if true! anyone else have any inside-the-locker-room perspective on this? as a team with a rich history and very few available #s, those lists must all be pretty long by now -- and getting longer quickly! (#11 been on three guys just this summer :)

also to the topic at hand, everyone should've been buying Semi stock once this trade went down. let's see what you've got young fella!
