The All-NBA Overrated Team

Post#1 » by ddb » Fri Nov 17, 2017 4:04 pm

I was reading an article about how the Nuggets came close to trading for Eric Bledsoe and it got me thinking what the All-NBA Most Overrated team would look like... Bledsoe is on my list. What does your list look like?

1st Team All-Overrated

C. Brook Lopez
F. Serge Ibaka
F. Carmelo Anthony
G. Ricky Rubio
G. Eric Bledsoe

Lopez is a career loser. He does absolutely nothing for me. He's slow, he doesn't defend well, he doesn't intimidate....he's just blah.

Ibaka had it made in OKC as a "young" 3rd option complimenting Westbrook/Durant...But he never got better as a player from where he was early in his career. Now he's an extremely overpaid role player.

I don't care what anyone tells me....Melo is one of the most overrated, selfish "superstars" of all-time. He is a 1-dimensional isolation player. He is a professional scorer who thinks he's better than he is. Melo has never scared me one bit as a Celtics fan going up against him. Ever.

Rubio was Mr International Hype train. Even I bought into it for a little while. He can't shoot...period. He is solid in certain areas, but not good enough to be anything more than a really good bench player. If he was a 3rd guard, bench guy on a contender like San Antonio, great. But that's it.

Bledsoe. "Mini LeBron". Give me a break. What has he ever done in the NBA? Maybe I'm wrong....maybe he's properly rated considering all Phoenix got in return for him was Monroe and a protected 1st. I've never been a fan. Danny had my scared for a little while when there were whispers that he liked Bledsoe a few years back.

I might actually say something like this:

C- Anthony Davis
F- DeMarcus Cousins
F- Giannis Alphabet
G- Russell Westbrook
G- John Wall

All these guys are considered gods in the NBA but haven't won anything. Their teams aren't going anywhere. Who ranks Melo high? In fact he might be under-rated. Over paid but everyone calls him a terrible player.

Who gives Brooke Lopez a thought? Rubio is the NBA's version of Tony Romo.
Eric Bledsoe was over-rated two years ago.

Not with you on Melo. Took his team to the playoffs every year in Denver. Best player on a team that went 6 games in the western finals against the eventual champions. Has stunk since he left Denver but has done as much in terms of winning over his career as a lot of guys rated higher than him.

And we're not talking about a guy rated all that highly by most people to begin with.

He's rated highly by fans, but never by the teams he played for.

The All-NBA Overrated Team

Post#9 » by Big Baby » Sat Nov 18, 2017 1:09 am

LeBron. It’s not that he’s “overrared” per se. He is one of the best in the game today. But when people say he’s better than Bird?

Bird would’ve traumatized LeBron if the went head to head.

Giannis. I’m with the Truth. No jumper? Then he can always be stopped.

Overrated is an in the moment thing in the NBA. Player stock is always shifting. Right now I'd say Simmons, Towns, Kuzma and Booker are on the overboard hype train.

Westbrook is both overrated and underrated at the same time, depends on which measures we're judging him by. He's an enigma and imo an all-time great talent, but his physical ability lends to him playing a style of basketball that will never lead to championships.

Pretty much the list I’d have given. Added on Simmons off the bench. Stuns me how losers love to ignore the fact he has no shot.

Really like this post.
I agree with Rubio, Lopez, and Melo. You have to include them for sure.

I'll go Love at pf and Debrick Defrozen at SG.

How do you guys keep Dwight Howard of this list.
He's the team captain.

Nice lol.

OG is legit for them though. I had him as a top 10 talent out of the draft. Raps did well to snatch him up at 23

John Wall for sure.

Not sure about the rest though.

We'll see what Davis makes of his future. I want to be sure he doesn't end up like Dwight Howard.

Davis is super talented, but what if he gets bored? He strikes me as rather casual

Booker for sure. I was out with my friend for the games last night and talked about him. Talented career loser, we predicted
