Key is not giving their shooters space.

They had an awful night tonight against the Cavs despite getting plenty of good looks so they’re going to be out to improve.

Let Embiid get his and worry about stopping the others.

I agree. Don't give wide open shots to Redick. Covington too but Redick more importantly.

Hoping for a much better defensive gameplan out the team Thursday. Our bigs need to be on the floor and playing productive. Could have won tonight, imo, with a better gameplan than keeping Baynes and Theis in limited minutes.

Simmons probably not playing. We should be able to get it if we play up to our standards.
Good assessment:

If I'm Brad, I tell the guys to stay home today. Relax. They've played every other day since October 24th, with a couple of back to backs tossed in. Mix in travel, it's amazing that we're 18 -4 at this point.

Understandably, the guys need to get away from the game and catch a breath after the effort that they're putting out there consistantly. I think we can all agree that they give more effort than the average team.

Come back tomorrow and clean some things up and be ready to go thursday.

Despite the loss, I'm felling a lot better about our offense for the last few games. A lot more ball and body movement, guys starting to hit shots. Hopefully we step up our defense again after that debacle yesterday

Is he? Cause of back-to-back?

Good for the team to have a couple of days off.

Simmons is questionable and Philly may finally be ready to let Embiid play back-to-backs. Keith Pompey had something about it yesterday.

B2B and 3 in 4 nights lead me to expect that he’ll be out

Nobody explicitly said that Embiid is on a restriction regarding back-to-backs at this point for what I know. However, Embiid has been battling illness the past days and IF he's sitting one game out of the B2B against Wizards and Celtics, it's probably the latter.
Last season Embiid sat a home game to play the 2nd night of a B2B on the road, resulted in a lot of angry fans and Brett Brown mentioned that they would take this into account for future occurrences. Also they're playing Detroit on Saturday, important game for the PO race.

It's a shame, but there's a real chance that a depleted roster shows up in Boston. Simmons has had some elbow issues and rolled his ankle against Cleveland as well. If I had a Sixers FO spot I would advocate for assembling the best possible roster for one of the two games and play a more reserve-heavy rotation in the other. Result of depending heavily on two rookies and a brutal schedule to start the season.

Boston is going to struggle to beat quality teams with strong inside/outside balance with Horford/Morris frontcourt.

I think Stevens was worried about scoring efficiently with Baynes last night, but its really too much to ask Al to battle Drummond/Embiid for 20+ minutes

I would really like to see a move made for a scorer before the deadline. No illusions the C's can beat GS but a Finals trip is very much a possibility if we can tweak this roster a bit.

I say we come back strong after the Pistons loss. Philly also having less rest. Should be a W.

Well F. I was considering shelling out the cash to goto this game just to see those two of the brightest young talents in the NBA.

So as me that's a boo, as a Celtics fan... I have 0 issues with taking a schedule victory and moving on. Irving and Horford had bad matchups against Bradley and Drummond against DET. It would have been interesting to see what this team does with a Simmons and Embiid matchup. There's a reason they've been overwhelming the league and winning games left and right.

We'll have many more games to play against he 76ers though to test that theory.

Personally, with the Clipper dying (let's wait and see if Blake's injury is serious) my pipe dream is we acquire Lou Williams. He's playing like an all-star again this season but only signed for year at 7 million on a prove it deal... and he's proving it. I think we have a DPE and a late first the Clipper could be interested in during a lost season.

Getting Lou would stick Rozier and Larking to the bench though. Unfortunate as I like Rozier... but it would change our entire team if we got a bonifide playmaker and scorer like Lou on the team. Exactly what we need. Bring him in when Irving sits and let the rest of the team that all thrive as complimentary players stay in their lane all 48 minutes (Horford, Tatum, Brown, Morris, Theis, Baynes, ect.)

Embiid is likely sitting this game or the Washington one. Considering Washington doesn't have Wall and the NBA might punish Philly for sitting him on the road, I bet he plays this one.

Ben Simmons' injury looked really minor to me so I doubt he misses time.

Philly being good this year is basically the only thing I've been right about this year (though I'm feeling better about my call that the Cavs are still a force to be reckoned with).

They beat you up on the glass, they bomb 3s and they have defensive size at every position.

They tend to suck at close games though with their turnover problems and no go-to perimeter scorer - I expect a close win for us.

Going forward, if Fultz comes back with J intact they are going to be pretty fearsome.
