The GT was full of people whining but I thought it was a fun game tonight despite the L; perhaps I was just starved for some Celtics basketball after the London break.

Hat tip to Jrue. AD is a monster.

It always sucks to get an OT loss because you expended that much more energy for nothing, but we will move on and hopefully beat the Sixers in a few days.

Next game is Thursday, January 18th, @Home against the Sixers, 7:00pm EST.

Pels deserved that one. Celtics were awful up 5 late. Too many bad trips when they could have closed it. Oh well, hadn't played a bad one in a while.

This loss is more upsetting because the Celtics had the game in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes and just made some really dumb decisions at the end that allowed the Pelicans back into the game.

Fun game. Not necessarily a good game. But, fun.

Honestly getting pretty close to going all 'Celtic Pride' on AD.

The Pelicans are reasonably good. Not sure why they would be willing to trade Anthony Davis in the short (or even medium) term.

Pels didn’t deserve anything. They should have lost but got the win. Whatever. Brad choked it away and the hero ball killed them. These games happen but the “Pels got a good win” or “they deserved it” is junk.

That late game execution was so bad. Bad decision by Stevens to not call a timeout down 3 at the game end.

Fun game, but the Celtics totally blew this one. Defensive focus was god awful all night, no one was picking up their man. Kyrie was bad down the stretch but I don't like that the Celtics went away from the ball movement that got them the lead.

Theis was phenomenal again.

AD is unreal. Cousins is great too, even with his flaws. Jrue is solid, played great defense on Kyrie all night. Disappointing loss though. Fun game, but disappointing for sure.

They had chances. They choked. AD is averaging 40/16 on 60% shooting his last 4 games. Weren't not the only team he ****'s on regularly.

Brad had to go big late.

So, he traded out Tatum for Smart because the goal was to get Kyrie off ball.

We just couldn’t stop Davis, Cousins and Holliday.

Kyrie has to play better especially late in crunch time. Missed free throw, bad threes, going 1 on 3, over dribbling to a jumpball that lead to the Pelicans getting the ball. Sometimes his shot looks like it doesn't have the proper lift.

Probably the worst coaching from Stevens I've seen this year playing Tatum 1 minute since the 3 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. Team struggled offensively late but never called a Tatum to bring in Tatum for offensive purposes. What's worse is he played Rozier the whole 4th when he was the worst player on the court all game. The final 15 seconds when we got a rebound, he didn't call a timeout when he clearly should have which led to a forced Kyrie 3. Lazy and bad coaching late in the game by Stevens by letting certain players play extended minutes while not playing the players who were needed late. I don't care what the matchup is, you need Kyrie, Tatum, and Horford in late in the game no matter what. If that forces Smart to go the bench based on the matchup then so be it. Tatum is a 2 way player and he's more than capable of guarding whoever guard Smart picked up.

Frustrating game all night. Did not look like the Celtics we normally see. No ball movement, a lot of selfish shots, way too many threes, and stupid killer turnovers to ruin momentum when we had about a dozen in the 2nd half.
