Winnable game, just played stupid basketball on offense. The Pelicans deserved that way more than us.

Pelicans are currently the 6th seed in the west. I would be iffy of playing them if I was out there........

Games like these really leave a bad taste in your mouth, because I can’t help but think Gordon really could’ve helped us out in this one. But, it was a hard fought game. The Pels are a solid team with two elite players on their side.
The next game against Philly is huge though. Can’t afford to drop back-to-back home games. They gotta take care of business against Philly and Orlando before the road trip

This was the game to go Big: Horford - Baynes or Theis - Morris - Tatum - Kyrie
if you can't out-small them, then out-BIG them. I think one of Brad's poorly coached games in several years.
And the two Marcuses did not help much, the lack of Tatum took away a big clutch element from the 4th quarter,
so, I'll say the 5 villains for the game were:
AD
Crazy Cousins
Brad's poor use of Tatum
Marcus & Marcus...

Offense is ugly, live by the 3 die by the 3. Kyrie reverting back to bad habits with Cleveland going ISO.

Too much time off, were on a win streak and it had to end sometime. Big comeback win in London. Rest after it and feeling over confident and lacking a killer instinct. Probably came back from London with a foreign fog.
Brad was partying at Butler with Gordon.
They will be fine.

This was the Pels best win of the season and they needed a lot to break right for it to happen. When other teams celebrate wins over you you've made it imo.
also just wanted to say thanks for being welcoming. Ya'll Cs are not too bad when I'm not debating AD's value on the trade board.

I hope we get Evans at the deadline. We need a ball handler with scoring ability besides Kyrie and Evans can do that.

I doubt the Pelicans might trade anyone. They just got a win over the team with the best record in the east. They are not that bad if they stay healthy.......
Still don't get why their record is so mediocre.

Re: Pelicans 116 @ Celtics 113 Post-game Notes (34-11)
Oh boy, where to start. Bad game by most everyone. But if we pulled this one out it would have been a team win as well. My takeaways:
Kyrie: Bad game, flat out. Still gets stuck in the air and doesn't hit the roll man with a bounce pass when initiating. Still prefers to draw three guys and then kick it out after jumping. Sometimes this works because his gravity as a player is immense. Other times his skill with the ball and acrobatic prowess allows him to penetrate so deep into the defense and then hoist up a bad shot.
Smart: Everyone's scapegoat. Marcus was bad tonight as well. Had a few nice moments getting boards and hustle plays but took way too many shots. Seriously his heat check decision making tree was like "did Marcus do something good last trip?" "MARCUS HEAT CHECK BABY!" He's at his best when he lets the game come to him and has something like 15 pts, 6 rebs, 6 ast on solid efficiency.
Jaylen: Some strong takes, some weak takes, and his usual bugaboos with passing and handle. I'm a big Jaylen supporter but he didn't always looked engaged on the defensive end of the ball. There were a few blow-bys that were way too easy. Remember this is a young team.
Scary Terry: Oh scary, moments of bad decisions but basketball brilliance, and moments of bad decisions and... not basketball brilliance. Every single player on our team over-dribbled tonight, but Terry was the epitome. He's slowly getting better at things. Remember, we're a young team. Tonight we didn't play the right way.
Marcus Morris: I'm starting to come around on Morris but he's still incredibly frustrating. He's a good defender and a good passer with a nice jumpshot. His decisions are quick and he often makes the right one. He looks like a vet that knows how to play. But then other times it's like he completely forgets about this and shoots two 20 footers off balance breaking up the flow of the offense.
Brad has a few egos to manage for once, and I think he's doing a good job. It's going to be a struggle to play the right way every night but we'll have more good nights than bad. Obviously New Orleans' size gave us problems; they're not a bad team. They're a playoff team in the West. But tonight we left a lot on the floor.

Brad is a master but not tonight. He took out Brown at the end of the game when the guy was starting to roll. A bad 5 in game: Irving, smart, Rozier, Horford, Theis. No offonse, stagnant ball and no great defense. Irving and smart with awful possessions down the stretch

Serious question because I haven't watched any Pels games this season. Does Gentry bench Rondo for the 4th every game? And if so why? I'm sure there's a reason, but it appears his ft% is at 75.

Re: Pelicans 116 @ Celtics 113 Post-game Notes (34-11)
Doesn't take much for some of you dudes to melt all over your keyboards huh? What a whiny game thread. Smh.
Decision making overall in this game was pathetic..that includes Brad. Idc if you have to sit Horford..or Smart..or go small as ****..you don't sit Jayson Tatum the entire **** 4th. Dude should have played and been force fed the ball all game long with E'twaun Moore playing the 3. This was a really poor game..settled for too many 3's, which I guess is ok with Davis roaming the paint..but just a poor performance. Should have won when we went up by 5..not sure how we let that slip away.
Sometimes you also have to give props to your opponent. AD was an animal..Boogie played a huge game and Jrue also had a terrific and incredibly clutch performance.
Al Horford was like a kitty in this game compared to Davis and Cousins. Thank God nobody else really presents him with this type of challenge. We probably have a better shot of winning this game if we go Theis and Baynes in the 4th over him. That put back dunk he let AD have in OT was **** shameful. Not blaming him for the L but that was bad.

Congrats.
You guys got a scary team. Don't mind us, we have not had many games lately at all so it sucks losing.
I can handle AD going off on us. I can't handle it when say Kelly Olynyk does it.
Now we have to play Philly, AGAIN. But we know them well enough.
I still think it's the curse of Rondo though for the Celtics.

Kyrie is lit as hell in the playoffs. You all will be happy we have him when that time rolls around and he has to save our butts at times.
