Is jaylen Brown becoming untouchable in the offseason?

We all know the Celtics will try to land AD or Kawhi in the offseason but Jaylen looks like he is improving every month. Is there a scenerio we include him in a trade in the offseason or does he now have too much upside? With Kawhi and AD both having injuries it does make me pause and think about including Jaylen in any trade. Especially since we have him under control contract wise for awhile.

I don't think he's untouchable. If anything he's simply becoming a better trade asset. Would love to keep him but you know, I also thought I'd love to keep Al Jefferson before the KG trade. Sometimes a sacrifice is necessary.

If you can get AD then you do it every time. Potential is potential. AD is the real thing.

To me it seems like Jaylen is the kind of player you want to build around, dude will be a beast very soon. I never got that feeling from Al Jefferson.

For anyone beyond Kawhi and AD that there are rumors about, quite possibly. (Though, I go Jaylen for Kawhi, Jayson for AD). Salary and control is a big thing too. There are obviously more than 2 players better than him in the league, but with 6 more years of control, that list grows a LOT smaller.

The better Brown and Tatum play, the less we'll have to give up when the next superstar comes on the market. The better they play, the more "touchable" they become.
That doesn't mean there aren't futures where they stick around for the long haul. But they're both a long way from untouchable.

It’s been real Brown, but you can play for the Spurs thanks.

Jaylen is a sell high type of player. He has high boom/bust potential.
If you can get Anthony Davis and keep Tatum while using Brown as the centerpiece, you do it every single time.

I'm a huge Brown fan because of his work ethic and his dedication to the game.
But comparing Brown and Tatum, the latter has just a natural feel for the game and looks like a safer bet the Brown.
However, as the season progress, and comparing Brown's leap from last year to this year, I'm just not sure anymore. His improvement has been incredible, he's working on all the facets of his game and that's something that you simply cannot overlook.

Yeah the better he plays the more valuable he becomes in a trade package for a legit star/superstar a la AD, Kawhi. Hell no is he untouchable not even close.

Untouchable? No.
But if the worst case scenario is building around the developing tandem of Brown and Tatum, I’ll take that for a floor every day of the week.

No, but he’s making himself a highly-touted asset OR setting us up beautifully for the future.

Not even close? The only players I’m seeing people want him traded for is AD or Kawhi and that might be unrealistic to begin with.

He’s not untouchable, nobody is if the deal involves Davis.
Then again, a starting 5 of Davis, Theis, Hayward, Brown and Irving would be amazing on both sides of the court.

Not untouchable, but likely only involved in a trade for a star. I like his progression and hope the Cs hang onto him..unless its AD or Kwahi or a player of that ilk.

Look, we have 2 top 25 players in the NBA(and one that is at least top 100), 2 top 25 young talents in the NBA, why would we blow this up for a talented big man with health issue and no charisma? When we traded for Garnett he was a Top 5 NBA player and a Top 3 charismatic player in the game, we only had PP, Ray, a talented big man(with a glaring hole in his game) and a bunch of scrubs, we needed KG like AIR. Now we need a piece BUT we are in the position to wait until a big fat occasion come along, why hurry? Our oldest bulding block is 1 year older than Kawhi and 2 years older than AD, also Kawhi hasn't become a star until his 4th/5th year, Jaylen is in thye same path with similar qualities, there's no reason to trade, we can simply wait until AL's contyract come off the books and sign another MAX player (since all of our 4 top player will be under the same contract they have now).

It’s interesting I think our starting five is intact next year of Gordon, Kyrie, horford, Brown, and Tatum is really good as constructed. If we sign Kyrie we get a second year after that. Do they win a title maybe but probably not. After that it’s figure out who to resign and bring in some more youth. We could be very good for the next 10 years and never win. It all depends on what Danny and Wycliffe wanna do. Price and assessment of players I’m sure will be the biggest factor in whether we get AD. I think it slightly opens the title window to get him but it probably shuts sooner. We would essentially be trading more youth for current prime. Currently our best players are Kyrie, Al and Hayward so I think they will do it if the price is right. We better keep one of the Js and hope it’s the better of the two
