I finished calculating my stats for the past NBA season - been doing this every season for a bit. These stats are mostly centered around contextual adjustments, composite scores, and contrast between scores. I'm not trying to sell 'em, not trying to sell their legitimacy, just sharing 'em. Rankings are relative to 368 players who played at least 399 minutes for a specific team.

It's awesome you do this. Thanks for sharing. Has the formula changed over the years as, for example, 3 point shooting has become more important in the league?

Any advanced stat produces some odd results but your list seems to rank players as well or better than PER, RPM, etc.

It's really more of a technique involving many formulas and calculations in a messy Excel spreadsheet, than it is a formula. I can get myself to sit down and hammer out stats once per season. Although, I'm sure someone with the right skills could turn it into an automated formula that could be updated daily.

In recent years, I'm getting better at avoiding errors (i.e. copying and pasting stats to the wrong players), but formulas have barely changed. There are spots where things can theoretically be tweaked, but I got to a point where the results consistently seemed about as credible as I presumed they could seem, and I've been sticking with that.
