Sacramento Kings/L.A. Clippers/Memphis Grizzlies pick watch 2018-2019

Post#1 » by Homerclease » Wed May 16, 2018 12:35 am

Someone’s gotta do it. Kings likely come away with Ayton or Doncic and go full youth movement. Could be a blessing in disguise for Boston

Agreed. They will be top 6 again next year anyway.

Doubt it. Kings won’t be looking to tank. Have either Ayton or Doncic coming in addition to Giles. The will likely sign Hezonja. I think Doncic goes to Phoenix who just hired his national team coach.

Kings likely line up:

Ayton, WCS, Koufos
Giles, Skal, ZBo
Hezonja, Jackson, Shumpert
Bogdanovich, Hield,
Fox/Mason/Temple.

Super jealous of that front court. I’m a huge believer in Giles I think he’s the real deal. Ayton speaks for himself. You’re weak on the wing still but there’s a lot of promise there

Yep we need to sign a wing in free agency or make a trade. Love Bogdanovich but unsure if Hezonja can step up.

That team could be good in a couple years but I love it next year for our pick

Ya same. Long term there is some potential there. If Giles can be helathy thats a crazy athletic front court. But for next year it will be a lock for a top 10 pick. I would try to trade one of the front curt guys for a young wing if possible.

Yeah depends on how Fox develops. Giles is likely to be much better than people expect. Ayton will have to work for his time. The big question mark would be Hezonja.

High lotto is all wings anyway. I'll take the mid lotto pick low risk of #1 protection.

It's jobs for the boys there.

It is also some strange hiring system where locals should not apply.

The GM is from Serbia, the assistant GM is from Serbia.

Bogdan Bogdan Bogdanović is from Serbia too.

Out of the entire planet, the best person to be the assistant GM just happened to be someone who lived down the street from their GM?

The only trade Divac ever won was, none?

A top 5 pick to Boston, all because Vlade wanted to sign Rondo, and all because Colangelo wanted Fultz.

It is a free pick, Celtics didn't lose anything to get it. As long as it isn't Simi from Vanderbilt, it is great. Of course, trading it for a pick in this draft would work too. You want Kellan Grady next year? Bol Bol?

Vlade isn't making the Kings into a great team next year, and while LeBron may like the team name he isn't going there. Should be a very good pick, although in a draft where the better players are what the Celtics already have for the position.

This pick is why you can't deal it in the off-season. The Kings will likely the worst team in the league next year. They wont get Doncic who would bring toughness and a winning attitude, they will get another one-way player in Ayton that wont be much beyond healthy personal box scores.

Man, if SAC hadn't jumped, their pick next year and MEM pick + take Nader's $400k for this year's would have been a pretty fair deal.
No way they do it now for #2.

It's probably a stupid question but are there any protections on this pick?

Top 1 protected. PHI gets it then, and we get their pick.

So the Sac pick is top 1 protected. What are the Memphis and Clips picks?

Im not going to lie, I really dig this roster. Im still pretty high on Hezonja so if they can get that addition I think it would be a tremendous fit. Im also very high on Bogdanovich as well. I dont think this team makes much noise next season, which is great for BOS (or whoever ends up with the pick), but damn I would be excited for that roster if I was a Kings fan. I wouldnt even care about the W/L record next year, just give those young guns as many minutes as they can handle and get those guys experience.

I agree there are some nice young pieces, I think Fox will become a more efficient shooter and I think Bogs will end up looking similar to the other Bogs, maybe even a little better on defense. Giles is still a question mark, a lot of talent, you just have to wonder how long it will take him mentally to go all out. Whoever they get this year will easilly have the highest ceiling and most likely be forced to start. That being said who's really going to add to the win total next season? Doncic maybe if they go that route, it just seems like they've made a commitment to youth and I could be wrong but I doubt they go out and add any significant vetran talent. As for "no incentive to tank," well we heard that with Brooklyn also. The new draft format makes tanking for everyteam less likely. The tanking was also just horrible this season and a black eye on the league, I would bet it tones down a bit this season, especially with no real franchise altering talents at the top again this year.

Memphis is top eight I believe then goes six and unprotected. Clippers is lottery protected but does transfer one more year before turning into seconds. My guess is we'all Ben looking at three firsts (Sac, Memphis, Bos) at three different stages in the draft. Best outcome would be 2,9,32.
