Everyone is scoring a lot, it's crazy.

In saying that, it's completely unsustainable by teams and should revert back soon. But perfect opportunity for Kings to pick up some games, and Bogdanovic will be great when he's back (which is?)

I mean Atlanta with 133 points tonight. Unreal....

So, it's possible that we get 4 x 1st Round picks this year.
2+ Sacramento, 9+ Memphis, 15+ Clippers, and our own late 1st.

But, do we really want 4, in one year?

I don’t think we want 4. Ideal is we get a top 5 from sac, and Memphis finishes bottom 8 this year and we wait until next year for that one. Clippers can’t posibly make the playoffs this year imo.

I know the percentages, but the top 1 protection is putting at least a 25% damper on following the kings this year.

Jontay Porter out for the season. Bummer. I had some interest in him with th Grizzly pick should it convey. See where he ends up now. Could be a good project in the late first. I am hoping Williams gets some run and looks good so I can end my decade long infatuation with marginal project bigs.

How the heck do the Kings beat OKC and MEM. Lol ... If they are turning it around this pick ain't gonna be too good. :D
Good assessment:

Looks like the Cavs will be absolutely trash. Bulls, Hawks, Knick's and Suns could also be worse especially with more incentive to tank. Memphis always gets injuries and is trash.

Kings look improved over last season due to improvement by Fox and others. Their best player from last season Bogdan hasn't even played yet. Kings were 7th worse last season before jumping in the lottery. They could very possibly be about 9-10th worst this season given how horrid teams such as Knicks and Cavs appear to be. I fully suspect Suns, Mavs, Griz, and Clips could all have worst records in the WC not to mention the crappy EC teams. All of them outside Sac will have incentive to eventually tank too.

They beat OKC at OKC on their home opener and they beat Memphis at home after playing in Denver the previous night.

I wasn’t thinking either game was a win. Still have lots of room to improve.

What people forget is the incentive to tank isn’t to get to 1 or 2. The odds for those teams are relatively even. The incentive to tank sits around moving from 8th to say 5th where all of a sudden at 5th/6th you have a viable chance at the top pick.

In the west: Denver, Pelicans, Golden State, Houston, Portland, San Antonio and Utah will be very good.

Lakers, OKC, T-Wolves, will be fighting for the last spot. I expect 1 will be out by late Feb and will tank for the 6-7 spot in March-April.

9-10 seems high to me.

In the Western Conference I only see the Suns and Mavs as potentially worse teams. Grizz have too many vets to bottom out unless they are destroyed by injuries. Clips are too gritty and Doc won't tank, so I think they'll still be better.

In the Eastern Conference you're looking at the Cavs, Knicks, Magic, Hawks and Bulls. I think all 5 of those teams could potentially be worse than the Kings. I don't think they all will be though. There's some solid talent on each roster and I expect a couple of them to rebound and still be better, especially being in the East.

So I think 7th/8th is about right, with upside if things go poorly with the Kings or well with any of the others.

I expect the Kings to run hot and cold with all their young kids. They'll have some good stretches, but I also expect some long bouts of woeful play and at the end of the day they'll settle in as a bottom 5 team. They've got some really nice players, I just don't anticipate Joerger being able to make them a consistently winning team.

I'm hoping that there are 4-5 teams competing for the 8th spot in the East and that keeps a team or two from leaning hard into the tank.

We will see...
The Kings had the 7th worse record last season and don't believe any of those 6 teams with worse records are any better than them this season. Now we have teams such as the Knicks(9th worse last season) and the Cavs who seem to be clearly worse too..not to mention a team like Charlotte that could very possibly tank. The Grizz might just pull the plug by the deadline and have motivation to do so with the protections on their pick.
Too bad the Pels would not consider dealing AD at this stage because it's possible that Sac pick might not end up having the value we all thought.

I think this is about right. The only thing for which it doesn’t account is the impact of the new lottery rules. The lottery is like a balloon, where the incentive to tank never leaves it just shifts.

Lottery odds for 1st pick:
1st: 14
2nd: 14
3rd: 14
4th: 12.5
5th: 10.5
6th: 9.0
7th: 7.5
8th: 6.0
9th: 4.5
10: 3.0

As you get to 9th spot you have incentive to double your odds by tanking to 6th. To move from 9th to 6th was two games last year. Pretty hard to imagine a team won’t tank 5-6 games in March/April to double their draft odds of Williamson.

The Kings will still be one of the worst teams in the league. This same thing happens every year we track other teams pick.

Bring on the lottery balls!

Kings will still be a bottom team this year but they have a decent young core. Nothing to pin hopes of greatness on. But they could be a playoff team in a few years or so...just not this year. Their top rotation can evolve to be decent. Depth is garbage tho.

I - like 99% of the country - have watch no Grizz games. But it appears Conley is doing okay and that maybe JJJ is gonna be a player. I'm going to throw them on the LeaguePass list (haven't had it in a few years but splitting it with buddies) to see how he looks. It would be par for the course for a rookie to have an extremely solid year but not get noticed at all because Memphis.

I think this conveying is a coin toss to be honest. Like a lot of y'all (I'm assuming) I hope they are bad and we get their unprotected in a few years, but Conley and a decent rookie are a good add.

The Fox-Hield Kings just beat the Wall-Beal Wizards.. Cauley-Stein had, somehow, 7 assists..
