It's not even so much upgrading as it is freeing up money to re-sign Smart and Baynes. Morris had some moments in this postseason and his personality on the court grew on me, but if trading him means we can keep Smart and Baynes, he can pack his bags.

Keyword here should be “cheaper” role players. Like we did with Avery.

That's fair, although, and correct me if I'm wrong, I think the only reason we moved Bradley was to free up some money for Hayward.

All things considered, I'm still not moving Rozier or Smart unless we get a young big in return (or a star, of course).

That was probably half the reason for moving Bradley but Ainge is on record on I believe sports radio or some other interview after I believe both IT/Bradley moved as admitting the team had been "too small" and could really benefit from getting bigger.

While I don't love Morris game, and especially not his inability to move the ball. I do like his junkyard dog attitude. You need some of that. And frankly you have to keep either Morris or smart IMO

They will. At least one of them will be back next year. I'm just not sure both of them will.

Probably biased but I'd move Rozier for someone like Dinwiddie (lengthy guard, decent offense) if we can't keep Smart. We saw past two ECFs (and series vs Bucks) how a single point of weakness on D can be exploited over and over and strain your overall defensive scheme. Idea is having as many switchable guys as possible with your top 7 or 8 in rotation.

Rockets keep coming at Curry but you can live with that because of what he brings on offense. We'll likely to experience the same with Kyrie. Next six or seven guys can't be defensive weak spots.

I know Dinwiddie has length, but is he really any good defensively? I'm not really into moving Rozier for another guard.

Bring em all back and move some of them down the food chain a bit with better health next year.

Hard to tell with the team he's on and how little I've seen of him but he has the tools to be a really good defensive player. My main point was can't have an IT (I see the point of his critics now more than ever) and Rozier getting hunted every trip down on switches. The less help/doubling/scrambling on defense, the better. If Smart walks, we'll need another PG.

Exactly this. Not sure why everyone is overreacting to our backups losing in game 7 of the conference finals. I thought the team was impressive.

If anyone were to go, I guess I’d vote for Morris. But honestly not sure I’m even sold on that.

Morris might have to go if we want to re-sign Smart and Baynes.

Fair enough. Definitely would rather keep Smart and Baynes. I guess everyone had their own frustrations with the team, and mine was definitely Morris killing the offense with his isolations.
