This is the 2019 NBA draft thread on the Celtics forum. It was presumably started to discuss who the Celtics might draft. There's a whole RealGM forum on the draft, so if you want to drool over Zion, go over there.

The title of the thread is 2019 NBA draft.

I’ll post where I want, when I want. Don’t like it? I don’t care.

Well, I don't care about Zion, either, but gush away.

Because I'd like to see some intelligent discussion of who the Celtics might draft in the early to mid teens, which is where the Sacramento pick probably winds up. Obviously we hope that the Memphis picks rolls over, which it would if the draft were held today, subject, of course, to the ping pong balls.

If you want to see intelligent discussion, provide it.

Typing “who cares?” Because I post a video isn’t intelligent discussion at all

Fair enough. If Doumbouya is not available in the draft range, I like Keldon Johnson. Good shooter, good defender.

It was just a block.

Yes, he is athletic. But hakim warrick did something similar.

I can remember people gushing Over Willie Cauley Stein guarding a point guard end to end for 90 feet.

Just chill on one play. I don’t find it that incredible.

Williamson is a 285 lb Jaylen Brown. Exciting player. His stroke from the free throw line is bad, though, and his release on the jumper is too low. Those will be issues when he hits the NBA. He's a legit No. 1 but he's no LeBron.

RJ Barrett is too much like Wiggins, and not just because they're both Canadian. He looks better than he is.

After Williamson, the guy on that Duke team I'm liking best is Reddish. Very nice player at both ends.

The gap between Zion and Brown is gigantic. If they were close, we would've seen Brown come somewhat close to making the impact that Zion is currently making. Jaylen's TS% was 52%, Zion's is 71% and climbing while also scoring 8 more points per game. Brown averaged 1.4 steals and blocks combined. Zion averages 4 steals and blocks combined. Brown had horrible touch around the rim, Zion has elite of the elite touch around the rim. Brown lacked natural feel and I, Zion is elite on both areas.

Wiggins and RJ are also very different. Wiggins biggest negative was his lack of fire and intensity. RJ's biggest strength is his fire and aggressiveness.

I have a question for you. I guess you have watched every single game of Duke, so did you see any progress in Zion's game (sorry Curm, still talking about Zion  ) since the beginning of the season ? Or is he the same player ? Thanks :D

I like the progression with his FT shooting, I actually think he can become an 80+ FT shooter, his touch on it is really good. His aggression is up as well, which is good to see.

The negative that I see though is as his aggression has gone up, the flaws in his handle shows more. It can be really loose and he seems to lose control of it a few times a game. I would want him spending more time on his handle this summer over his shot.

Yup, that Sac pick can still jump to #1 so I don't see the problem here either.

I don't see a problem with talking about Zion either. However, if the pick jumps to 1, we don't get it.
