Celtics 101 @ Raptors 113 Postgame Notes (1-1)

Post#1 » by truth18 » Sat Oct 20, 2018 2:29 am

Boxscore: http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=401070219

This was a fun game. The first half was full of sloppy basketball on both ends, but once things kicked into gear, I couldn't stop smiling. A close game of basketball is the **** best.

Unfortunately, the end result tonight was poor. I maintain that Kawhi is a top three player in this league when healthy. He consistently elevated his overrated team (I love Lowry but it's true) in a multitude of ways. He is special. It's going to to be fun playing this Raptors squad at the Garden.

I didn't have an issue with the officiating. You take what you get.

I'm not worried about this team at all. Kyrie will bounce back soon. Let's **** up the Knicks and get another win.

Next game: Saturday, October 20th, 7:30pm EST, @NYK

Well played game by the Raptors. The Celts needed that, to be honest. Not gonna name names but some folks appear to be reading their press clippings too closely. Hayward's improvements have been noticeable.

I'm very disappointed in Jaylen Brown. He looked so lost on the court at times, and he is showing none of the improvements he talked about making this year.

Hats off to Toronto. They looked great. Like I said: they are in a completely different league than the 76ers. Anyone who feels Philly is better than them is absolutely delusional. Kawhi is THAT good.

Loved what Hayward did tonight. He looked great. Kyrie still isn't there yet. It's going to take him a little while to really start getting comfortable.

Give this team a month or two, and my LORD; they are going to be scary.

This is going to be a fun season.

Hayward is getting his game back. That’s the only positive of this game. Raps were the aggressors and the better team tonight.

Brad got some film to study. Great game to watch, deflating finish.

Get that cyborg up outta the east, please.

Saw flashes of the best of Kyrie, Hayward and KL.

They should all be near peak form in the second half of the season, barring injuries of course.

Think the people that don't have Lowry on that same tier as our guys are just wrong.

Goes without saying I would hope that I'm not worried two games into the season. I knew the raps would be tough. They have the best player on the court and they were at home. I expected a loss. Again, not worried.

Game 2. luckily 80 to go. i thought it was ugly, so many stupid turnovers.

1- Kyrie and GH will get back to it. Kyrie seems to be shying away for now. but hey, theyve been out a while.
2- marcus freaking smart is still an A-hole. i seriously hate him.
2a- only a matter of time before kyrie runs the game
3- there's a lot of options on this team, it's deep, sheeeesh. hopefully, morris and smart's minutes will go down. they are on the court way too much.
4- glad to be back.
5- This isn't kyries team

It's more of an age thing. He is definitely declining. Still really good, but declining. Three years ago, it would be a different story.

Still wild that Philly wouldn’t trade for Kawhi.

Excited for whenever Brad figures out the right combinations. Still disjointed. Hope we aren’t feeding Morris minutes just to keep him happy.
