simply amazing timing given that the tread deadline is 5 hours before tip off. wow.
IF they get AD this board's gonna be all

whereas if they DON'T get AD this board's gonna be

or if Silver is allowing some incomprehensibly-long extension on negotiations to appease LeBron then

or if we make any sort of trade or don't

or if Gordon looks hurt and slow again

or if Bruce Willis is dead at the end of Sixth Sense

Gotta think they will play better than they did in Indiana, as the trade deadline will have already passed and some of the distraction will probably have worn off by then as a result.
Still, it's blatantly obvious to these guys that LeBron tried to trade all of them, so the dynamic between LeBron and the rest of the team for the remainder of the year will certainly be interesting.

Assuming no trade come the deadline, I can’t wait for the “we’re getting AD!” chants.
Having a hard time thinking of a catchy anti-Davis to LA chant though. Bummer.

On this day (Feb 7th) 40 years ago
The Celtics Defeated the Seattle Supersonics 107-100
The Celtics were led by Chris Ford (who would hit the leagues very first 3 point shot the next year) with 31 pts, Dave Cowens Chipped in 24, Max had 18 and Tiny 11.
The Sonics had a balanced attack with 5 players in double figures, led by Gus Williams and including third-year point guard Dennis Johnson with 14. Fred Brown (who would lead the league in 3 point percentage the next year in the first year of the rule change) chipped in 12.
The Celtics would finish the year at 29 and 53 and miss the playoffs.
Seatle would go on to win their one and only championship, defeating the Washington Bullets in 5 games. Dennis Johnson was named finals MVP.
Dennis Johnson would be traded to the Celtics in the final hours of the 1983 trading deadline and become an integral part of the team that won championships in 84 and 86. The man who Larry Bird called 'the greatest player he ever played with' had his #3 was raised to the rafters in 1991. The five-time all-star was elected to the hall of fame in 2010 but unfortunately did not live long enough to receive the honour, having passed away 3 years earlier from a heart attack.

to be honest, I'm a bit worried about this game. I think LA is going to be super geared up for this game. I can see LeBron going off for 40, and Rondo doing his best to hurt us.
I would love to see us shut the Fakes completely down, but I just think this is one of the few games that the Lakers will be able to look past all the junk that's going on, and give it all they've got. Of course if some kind of trade goes through before the game, that could be huge, but assuming nothing happens, I'll stay a bit apprehensive about this one.

So wait... what happens if LA trades their whole roster Thurs afternoon? Who does LA trot out there for the game? Call up their whole D-League squad?

inb4 Lakers trade for AD, and they still miss the playoffs. Then AD doesn't re-sign with Lakers, and goes to the Clippers in FA.
Beat these bums by 100, the Celtics need to keep the Clippers in the playoffs.

Lord that 2017 team overachieved so much. Then again, outside of Cleveland, the East was doo doo that year.
