I wouldn't mind a loss here.

Well the last time we faced an LA team
Irving went 6-21
Smart went 2-10
And those two players were able to chuck us into a loss instead of passing when they were having a terrible shooting night.

This needs to be talked about more. The only noticeable thing Baynes brings that our other bigs do not and yet is never talked about among casual basketball conversation is strength at the big man position. And I mean just being stronger and having greater mass than most of the players he lines up against.
He sets screens, he fights for rebounding position, he sets illegal legal picks on drives to the basket by our players.
I think it's time to wonder if for the future we need a guy in our big man rotation be... big. Physically imposing. It apparently still plays a role being able to physically dominate your opponent even in the modern 3 point chuckfest. And Baynes may be gone next year, or at least the year after that.

At least Kyrie hit what should've been the game winner. Smart chucked up TWO 3s where he was COMPLETELY wide open, and bricked both. I love the guy for the other stuff he does, but every time he shoots a 3 I unleash a torrent of curse words in his direction. The guy needs to stop **** shooting and stop thinking he IS a shooter.

Well I think the odds that they both shoot those percentages again are very low. Especially when literally everyone else on the team is on fire.
For Smart's case, like Marcus Morris for now this year he is a shooter. And while he has months of shooting 17% from 3 and 32% from 3 on this season, he also has been super hot from 3 for extended periods.
Usually he passes up non great 3 point shots this year or had been until recently. But when you're hitting them at the %s he is then **** it shoot it my man.

We still dropped 128 pts with those guys struggling. The issue was the defense and the Lakers going nuclear from 3

Baynes is scheduled to be OUT until after the All-Star Break.

That's why it's huge to get a bigman from the buyout market. Our level drops like crazy without him.

I'd like to win the next 3 games so we enter the break at 38-20. 24 games within 47 days after the break, including 4 sets of B2B. That is going to be tough. I figure the team will need to get to at least 55 wins to be a top 3 seed, meaning a 17-7 clip. Difficult, because I don't see too many tanking teams in our schedule.

Our schedule down the stretch is brutal but so is Indiana's.

I'm not too worried about Indiana (but to their credit, they have played well without Oladipo thus far). I don't think we can catch Milwaukee. A slim chance of maybe getting to Toronto. Our main focus at this point should be to remain ahead of Philadelphia.
Man, that 2nd round in the East is going to be a bloodbath.

Thibs likes Boston in the East. His pick to come out of east right now is Milwaukee. Says they struggle to defend the 3 pt line while the Celtics shoots very good from the 3pt line. Celtics have had success against Milwaukee as of late.
Thinks the Raptors will have to figure out who comes off the bench between Siakam,Gasol, Ibaka. He likes them but he didn’t seem to think that highly of them from reading from his responses.
Says the Celtics have come a long way from the start of the season. Their offense is much improved, shoots the 3 really well. Hayward will not be close to where he was until the end of the regular season, start of the playoffs and that he will really help the Celtics. We have played really well over the last 20-25 games.
He said the 76ers lack experience basically. So definitely we should be encouraged by this. We had a heartbreaking loss in LA last season too, this year it was at home.

Big miss for that game in particular. He's big for us on the defensive side
