Do you like that nickname, I think there is a WWE wrestler named cheeseburger.
Taco jay has a spicy ring to it

He occasionally has a good rebounding game. His hops coupled with his ability to snag balls out of passing lanes suggests that he could have more of them if he tried harder.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

Just a stupid college nickname. But of course it gets played up once he wins the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
And congrats to him for it. Not as speedy as the point guards out there, but consistent and heady and a shooter.
But what's with everyone playing up Trae Young's 3pt shooting? He's at .312 from the 3 in the NBA. Wasn't super great in college either. Not that he's not a good young player, but he's no Jayson Tatum!
PS Notable that their dads were both professional players in Europe, so the skills at a young age make sense.

Ugh, Taters is a terrible nickname.
Meanwhile, not a good look for young Mr. Tatum here--thinking that he and other NBA players (or anyone, really) should be beyond gratitude:
All-Star weekend is filled with survey-like questions, including one reporter taking opinions from the players on their view of athlete stereotypes.
Tatum, clearly bothered with the perception that professional athletes aren’t thankful enough, perked up with his response.
“There’s quite a few,” he said. “Sometimes people get the idea that we should be grateful to be where we are, rather than that we worked for it, that we worked our butts off our whole life and deserve it. A lot of people get upset when guys demand a trade or try to leave teams. A lot of people say how could you, or he should just be happy to be in the NBA. That’s not the case. Everybody here worked their tails off to get to this point.”
Yes, he and they of course earned it. But signing a contract worth over $20M as a teenager, playing a sport as a career, living a life of fame and adulation, after being the son of a pro basketball player and growing to be 6'8" tall, and he doesn't think there's anything he should be grateful for? Sounds like he's had a little too much of Kyrie and Jaylen in his ear -- and lived a sheltered life of privilege.
Let's just hope he's not sounding like this in another couple of years: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/celtics/2019/02/17/kyrie-irving-focus-more-than-just-basketball/C4Adz5cSPjdUxNqHuSkm5M/story.html#comments
