Series/season over.
New England sports teams never win easy. There are droughts spanning many years in our shared history, there have been brutal finals losses across every sport. Many of our best moments have emerged out of deep shame or heavy hardship. The Celtics have arguably felt this struggle and pain the most despite our franchise having the most championships of the major Boston sports.
I am a fan of Kyrie and our potential with him and another star, but he is gone and he was absolutely **** terrible this series. He basically quit on the team in this last game imo. There are lots of paths forward but they are all steps backwards from where we thought this team would be at this point. Hayward has been a disgrace to basketball. The rest of the team stepped it up at points but they deserve a ton of blame as well. Tatum’s 0/5 3pt game particularly.
Brad has been awful at managing personalities and making on court adjustments all year into the playoffs. I love Brad but I have said all year that I believe we have seriously overrated him. Many of these issues are on the coaching staff honestly.
None of this is good, but we will somehow power through it and do whatever we have to do to win a championship. Trust in Zarren. Trust in Ainge for now. Len Bias died for this team. Reggie Lewis died for this team. It took years after that but we eventually won it all again. This is a minor setback in comparison. It’s so **** hard to win it all in the NBA. Don’t blame our FO for any of this.
To the Bucks/Bucks fans: good game, great series. Giannis is a **** beast and destroyed our team’s collective will and ego by himself imo. He cannot be stopped offensively and his reach and defensive play usually stifled us into complete confusion. The team has definitely turned the corner and if Giannis makes another leap next year Milwaukee will be a **** serious force in the future. I’m not sure that the Raptors can beat them even though I’m a gigantic Kawhi stan.
This is obviously my last post game/VC of the season, it’s been real people—cheers, Parl, great work this year as usual.
Keep your head up, everyone.
**** the basketball gods.
Go Celtics.
Suck my dick.
