BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have completed a three-way trade with the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans. The Celtics have acquired forward Tayshaun Prince and a future first round pick from Memphis. The Celtics have also acquired guard Austin Rivers from New Orleans. The Celtics have traded forward Jeff Green to Memphis.

Tayshaun Prince traded by the Boston Celtics to the Detroit Pistons; the Boston Celtics traded Marcus Thornton and a 2016 1st round draft pick (Skal Labissiere was later selected) to the Phoenix Suns; the Detroit Pistons traded Gigi Datome and Jonas Jerebko to the Boston Celtics; and the Phoenix Suns traded Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics.

Austin Rivers traded by the Boston Celtics to the Los Angeles Clippers; the Los Angeles Clippers traded Chris Douglas-Roberts and a 2017 2nd round draft pick (Jabari Bird was later selected) to the Boston Celtics; the Los Angeles Clippers traded Reggie Bullock to the Phoenix Suns; and the Phoenix Suns traded Shavlik Randolph to the Boston Celtics.

I'm happy to push it to 2021 especially if that's the first year they allow high schoolers back into the draft. I don't see a lot of potential with Memphis unless JJJ develops to his ceiling and they absolutely nail this draft pick. Maybe they can snag another quality young player by trading Conley at the deadline too? Otherwise that's a pretty grim roster and you could argue they have zero top-100 players after Conley.

Memphis got rewarded today for scorning the Tank gods, so I expect they will play the same way next year. And that we will pick up their pick at around 8-12 next year.

Memphis might be a bottom 5 team next year. They are going to trade Conley, as they should, and go with JA Morant at PG. Love the move for the future, but they are not going to be good nxt year.

Conley is definitely getting traded. And adding what I'm assuming is ja (which I'm on record is a bust). So I think they will be in top 10 bad teams for 2 more years.
Anything can happen but this is a win so far.

RIP. I think I'd still rather take the unprotected pick and risk that they won't improve that much extra with that extra year of JJJ/whoever this year/whatever they can get for Conley. Especially if the Celtics have to use all their picks this year and try to stash a guy or two overseas to stagger the rookies a little. 1-2 rookies this coming year, 1-2 next the following year, then the Memphis unprotected pick rookie in 2021.

One thing to be optimistic about in terms of the Grizz sucking is how things are shaping up out West. I would say literally every team out West is in a better position than Memphis right now since Zion is going to NO. Suns with Ayton/Booker have no excuse to not start winning more. Dallas with Luka/Unicorn. TWolves with KAT. None of the playoff caliber West teams look set up to fall off a cliff in the next 2 years either.

I can't say I'm disappointed the pick didn't convey this year.

I don't feel like this draft is very deep and I like the unprotected pick into the future. The Grizzlies grabbing the second pick helps as well. They'd more than likely take Ja and then trade Conley for more youth. They have some growing pains before they get better.

Really hoping this is New Orleans or someone else's concern.

I heard the first HS Draft would be 2022. We thought 2021, but there was a reason that i'm forgetting that it'd be 2022. Wish I had an actual reason lol. "Sauces"

I think they made it 2022 because there were future picks traded up to 2021, and they didn't want to disadvantage teams that has traded a 2021 pick not knowing. ie. The pick the Sixers from Miami.

Not at those positions. Guards are rarely useful in that first year. Trae Young was really bad for the first 75% of the season and I don't rate these guys as much as I did him. D Fox was good in his second year and I'm still hot from the burn of that draft pick busting so am a little scared of 2021 and Jaren, but this pick is still looking very good.

Think this pick is going to be in coin flip territory whether or not it conveys in 2020 as this year's was.
